Good quality, good colours and good value.
These are excellent pastel pencils. I had already bought a set of 12 to try and decided to treat myself to the 48 set hoping that they impressed me as much. I wasn't disappointed. There is a good range of colours and they lay down smoothly and blend nicely. I was especially pleased that there was a broad range of earths, greys, blues and yellows that were suitable for landscape. There are some lovely subtle colours in this set that I feel will delight anyone trying to capture any part of the natural world accurately whether it is flora, fauna or landscape. ( My only regret is that this is the largest set that seems to be easily available.)The packaging is basic but solid which meant that they arrived in perfect condition despite being shoved through the letter box.Considering this set is one of the least expensive on the market I think it is great value and that it outperforms some of the more expensive brands I own. If you are considering buying a set of soft pastel pencils I recommend these highly.

Fantastic pencils
Fantastic pencils. These have since replaced my stabilo Carbothello pastel pencils as my main set, my Carbothello pencils now work alongside these. Value for money is great, as you get a lot of use out of just one pack, I've managed to complete 3 large portraits (1 - 50 X 70cm piece and 2- 70 X 100cm pieces) they have much richer colours especially for drawing darker skin tones. I decided to try the larger pack of 48 and my goodness the colour selection is great, the pencils themselves have a lovely saturated colour and blend beautifully on pastel mat. Currently my favourite pencils. The pencils arrived very well packaged and protected, and during usage I've have no issues with leads braking. They came the next day after ordering (with prime).I highly recommend this set of colours for any amateur and professional artists alike.

a good range of colours
A good range of chalk colours, but they are very soft and blend well but I have found on certain makes and grades of pastel paper these tend not to stick that well. I cannot fault the value and ease of use, these pastels are ideal as a starter kit for anyone who wishes to try pastel work.

Beautiful pencils, lovely to use
Great price for the amount in this set. Lovely pencils, fabulous to colour with. Excellent pigments. Very soft lead so you just need a few strokes to get a generous amount of colour. I used some cotton buds and a soft tissue to blend and move the colour. Excellent set of pencils to add to your collection of artists materials. Highly recommended.

Useful inexpensive pastels
I find these very useful and value for money. The one tricky thing is that they don't bother to actually list the colours. So you either have to do a large swatch to work out what underlying colours that particular shade includes and it's temperature or you can search the net (took me hours to find information and I get the impression that shades may be quite variable in different batches).
