This works really well
I live on a large houseboat, which sometimes has leaky decks which, over time, do accumulate a lot of water in the bilges. I have tried far more expensive pumps than this - they always have a problem with priming or sucking dry. I bought this from Amazon, together with Europart Drain Outlet Hose and Hook, 4 m Length, 29 mm and 22 mm Fitting, plus a 240v to 12v converter: 240v Mains To 12V DC Cigarette Lighter Voltage Converter Power Adapter 10A SB12, PLUS a 12V plug: Carviya 3 5 6 8 10 15 20 Amp Male Car Cigarette Lighter/Aux Socket Plug Connector 12 Volt With Fuse Diode Indicator (20 Amp / 2 Pack). I then took apart one of the plugs (the spare is useful both as a spare and a reference if you've never done something like this before, and soldered in the two naked wires running from the bilge pump. I ran the hose out of a porthole, dropped the pump into the bilges at an access point I have where the most water accumulates (water in my barge runs into the port quarter at low tide through a series of limbers). I plugged in the bilge pump to the power coverter and turned it on. RESULT? It sucked the bilges dry. At last!! Great product.

Gret water butt pump
I use this pump to fill up water buts from the reservoir at the allotment. It saves me 100's of yards in walking with cans.
