Q: Hi there, can they be clipped to a drum to pick up sound?.

Hi, The microphone is like a claw : one part is the microphone (electromagnetic part) and the second part is only to ensure the fixing property. Just like a claw you put on your clothes after washing them, when you want them to dry on a string. (I hope I am clear enough, my English vocabulary is limited) Then, it usually get the sound from what it is mechanichaly linked to. But not the overall noises around (or much less). We were using it for recording strange noises coming from inside a mechanic equipment. Then we have fixed the microphone with the claw on a rigid surface , as the sound propagate along it, the results were perfect. If you are maintaining it on a drum dish, be aware, there will be a extra thickness (where the microphone is) which will avoid the dishes to hurt correctly each other. Maybe you could try to hook it on the mast ? Best regards Laurent

Dear Beth, what I know is I procure this product and plug it to a recorder. I was recording noises from a mechanical device (not music) and results were OK to me. This is very sensitive microphone. What do you mean by "attach it to another record audio"? Regards. LAurent

From what I have read, this mic is designed to be used with a tuner. So I use it to tune my harp and it does so really well. I have not used it for recording but hey try it and see. You never know!!!
