MOTTEZ A500P Bike Carrier with Straps - 4x4 Model - Grey

I've just spent an hour putting this together and, whilst the result is certainly solid, the assembly process came with a few challenges.Firstly, the instructions are in the form of diagrams (which were fine) but nearly all supplementary information is in French. Secondly, there were two parts missing. Thirdly, there are NO pre-assembled parts, you have to put everything together yourself. Lastly, some of the main framework is quite poorly finished and required the judicious use of a large lump hammer in order get various components to fit together - the tubular bicycle supports had also been cut quite roughly, I found significant burrs at both ends, this required me to file them down before they'd go into their designated holes.All in all this will certainly do the job (I have a 2006 Honda CRV mk2), you just need to be patient and not expect to be able to use this straight out of the box.

Was very sturdy one put together bikes did not move for whole of journey. Instructions not clear enough as we didn't know how good attached to the straps as picture different to what we had. Also largr fixing around wheel is nothing like picture and had to improvise on how it did up. Delivery time brilliant. Would recommend. However only for holidays not if avid biker as you would need an hour before leaving to put up and put together.

Great piece of kit, takes about 1/2 hour to assemble, easy to take off and store. Held bikes on firmly through out my journey in the defender.....very impressed.

The bike rack itself is robust and well made. My bikes came down to low and inter-feared with the tow bar and subsequently the caravan.Also, having had free delivery, when I came to send it back I was lumbered with the return delivery costs. Not happy about that at all.

Great piece of kit but it didn't come with all of the necessary bolts!! Real shame as it looks like one of the better items but can't try it

Did a great job taking 3 bikes to France. It fitted really well to my Land Rover defender 110 spare wheel on the back door. No issued at all and definitely recommend it.

Ok, if you are lucky 4x4 owner, you probably have spare tire attached to rear door, so bike carriers with just straps to the door won't work. Another option is hitch - if you have it. Now look at carriers market and you find that there are not so many option can be attached to the spare tire. Moreover, if you like me need a carrier for three bikes, than there are really few options. Most of them are for two bikes, some for four, but not for three!!! Mottez did great job - they designed it for three bikes, it attaches to the spare, attaches really fast with ratchet strap, and... It cost just few bucks!! ( try to compare with other brands!!!).Usage - I would say it does it's job well.I would give it five stars, but there are two things which makes me a little bit less excited: - it is not really fancy, doesn't look like good well designed European product (think about cheap little car or Smart - both do the job, but which will you prefer?), - strange way to secure it in the bottom with two self locking straps... My car has simply no points to strap it... And even it would have it, if you attach it in the proposed way, then you can't open rear door with carrier attached!!! I still wonder who could design it and why they could not include one more ratchet strap to attach it to the bottom of the spare? (Honestly, since I had my own ratchet strap so I do it exactly this way).Overall, I'm happy with the product, especially, taking into account its price and shipping to Dubai via UPS. Total came out to only £150, which it twice less than any other bike carrier here.
