Fountain pen friendly!
I love the paper in this notebook! I found it to be very fountain pen friendly and it showed off ink properties well. The cover feels a little weird - but not bad. If youโre a fountain pen user, highly recommend!

I really wanted to like this paper
I ordered this notebook based on reviews on social media. I'm fairly new to journaling and fountain pens, so I'm in that period where I'm testing out different papers. So far writing on 90gsm Clairefountain paper is my second favorite, with 80gsm Rhodia coming in directly behind it. I'd put this third with Tomoe River paper coming in first. What I like about this paper is that it doesn't make the pen's natural nib size larger, and it also allows for shading and sheening inks. I haven't tried shimmering, but I'd have no doubt it would be great. What I don't like about this paper is that it's a little scratchy. One nib where you do get some feedback is my Sailor 1911 nib. But on this paper, it's less pencil like feedback and more scratchy. I've tried several other smooth pens, including pens that throw down a lot of ink and are very wet nibs and even those are scratchy. It's a shame because this notebook is well crafted, it's just the paper that is a downer.

Love the book, defective paper
I love this book. I love the feel, the size, the amount of blank pages, the colors etc. Its a well made product and stands out from the stationary crowd. HOWEVER. Mine had the issue I saw on youtube reviews of this brand. Maybe 10% of the page has some defect where ink will not write, skips, or writes "dotted and jaggy." Similar to getting skin oil on some other fountain pen papers. At first I thought it was me and I wasnt careful. I went as far as to take a full on shower and wear cloth jewlers gloves for a week of evening journaling to see if I was somehow getting oil on the page or if it was the book itself. Definitely the book. Its not just the sides from flipping through pages or diagonal sections from resting your hand on the page while writing. Its random circular areas like something dripped on the page during manufacturing.Otherwise I love this book. I hope they fix it and I can try one again in the future.

Not as good as the old version
The older version with tomoe river paper is far better. The notebook itself is thinner and the paper felt better. It's not that this is bad, but it's just about feel for me. I'm just very disappointed because the old version has been my favorite notebook for a long while.

New Regalia paper is terrible for fountain pens
Great notebook if you use a ballpoint or gel pen. However, the bleed through, ghosting, and feathering with fountain pens is really bad. This is nowhere near the former Endless products that used Tomoe River paper. Shifting to the in-house Regalia paper has now made this product totally useless for me. I hope Endless makes some changes to the paper formulation, but until it does, I won't be buying any more Recorder notebooks.
