Great Gig For Jerry Fans
This radio broadcast from 1972 is in reality the Jerry Garcia - Merl Saunders Band with Bill Kreutzmann sitting in for Bill Vitt. The recording might not be pristine, but it's such a great gig with Jerry on top form, fluid and inventive. There's a great jam on CD1 of Save Mother Earth which runs into Imagine - magic. If you have all the other releases from the Fantasy label, (neatly packaged on Keystone Companions: The Complete 1973 Fantasy Recordings), then don't hesitate, do get this double album, where the music is so uplifting and joyous, yet laid back at the same time. An essential purchase in my eyes for collectors of Jerry's work.Packaging is a standard slimline plastic box with an eight page booklet containing some info and photos.

You will not be disappointed
1972 Jerry and friends. Always a departure from his Grateful Dead work , Jerry's side band recorded some amazing stuff over the years. As another reviewer noted , the sound is not pristine , but far ,far from distracting. What matters here is the playing , on these mostly instrumental jams. All the participants are in fine form and turn in a "one for the ages" recording. Some lesser performed tracks sit perfectly next to some tracks we are more familiar with in Jerry and friends arsenal.I was really impressed by the level of musicianship consistent throughout these two discs. And this is from a guy who owns EVERY GD and Garcia release.

Great music, good quality sound
This is a great show, with very good sound even by non-bootleg standards. The musicians sound like they're enjoying themselves, relaxed at times, high intensity at others. The other band members contribute fully to what is a really enjoyable 2 CD's. Highly recommended if you're a Jerry Garcia fan.

consumer alert
Great music, almost as great sound. Be aware...especially since Amazon uk gives no track isting---this cd has exacty the same content as the "Pacific High" cd released in May 2015. I bought both, a hazard of not buying in a store and being able to read the track listing. You do not need both. This cd distributor is faulted for not including Merl Saunders name, which might have alerted me to the identical content.

Rubbish Sound Quality….
I was looking forward to this album considering the decent reviews, but the sound quality is dire, it’s distorted and hard on the ears. Crashing cymbals are horrible to hear, everything is jumbled. The organ and guitar are acceptable but vocals are a disgrace. The packaging that it’s in is a double slip case where you need pliers to get the discs out, consequently doing damage to either the case or discs.Mine was returned promptly. I don’t recommend it for the above reasons, sorry.
