Q: How thick is it and can it be fitted to a king size bed?

It's only about an inch and a half thick but as long as you ensure it has the correct amount of air it is very good.I have never used any myself but my mum had one for the armchair and one for the bed,and they made a huge difference to her.They are not designed to fit any particular size bed as they are only a couple of feet wide and are strapped to the existing matress.As far as using it with the correct amount of air is concerned that is not a problem as the pump supplied has a valve which prevents over inflation.If you do decide to buy this item when you receive it if you are like me you will feel you have not got much for your money,but they really are good.Try asking your local authority who I believe use them in hospitals.

Q: Does anyone else find this too noisy to sleep on or have we not pumped it up enough

It is a bit noisy but I am not disturbed by it. You can't pump it up more than it will allow anyway. I wonder if it is deflating. It shouldn't need pumping up more than just a bit perhaps once a week if that. Or maybe it is something to do with your sheets. We have pure cotton sheets with a high thread count.
