RolandElectronic Drum Set (TD-02K)

I got this electronic drum set for my husband’s birthday, and we both love it! I agonized over buying this one (TD-02K) or the next higher level one (TD-02KV). From my research, the only differences were the snare (TD-02KV has a two zone mesh snare) and different stands (TD-02KV has a bigger stand with more spread). Both have the same module). I went with the TD-02K because of the smaller footprint and because I didn’t need the two zone snare.I love this kit! The sounds are great! You get 16 kits. You can’t edit them or create new kits from what I see. But these are really great and have professional sounding samples. Which is important because I’m using it for recording. If I need a side snare sound, I can easily grab a sound I need from EZ DRUMMER or a wav CD. The stand is solid and well designed. It was easy to put together. I started recording right away into my Apollo with no problem. I’ve owned a lower end DDRUM kit, a DONNER kit, and a YAMAHA kit. This ROLAND is the best of them all. Any future kits I get I will stick with ROLAND without a doubt.And if I want I can always upgrade the snare, possibly the hi hat and definitely the Roland kick tower. So the options are there!

Nice practice kit! Very simple to set up and use. The preloaded drum set sounds are excellent for an entry level EKit. Seems very durable. The only issue I'm having now is because of the limited positional options for the high-hat and rack-toms the transition for fills seems pretty cramped and awkward. I'm a 6'2" experienced adult drummer so a smaller adult or kid might not have this issue, but an experienced player should know they'll run into this when playing fills. Otherwise, its a great purchase for me to have something to use for quiet practice in an upstairs bedroom between gigs.

There are better cheap beginner brands out there.
