Peace of Mind
We love how easy this was setup in our SmartLife App. It runs regular self tests and the report is sent to our phones.

Highly recommend
Purchased this smoke alarm for my elderly dad who had memory issues. His previous smoke alarm that had a built in battery. His apartment is usually very hot in the winter time because they give a lot of heat in his building during the winter. Which use to cause his previous smoke detector to go off. My dad would get confused due to the beeping and being unable to make the detector stop beeping. Due to his condition I purchased this smoke detector that battery can be removed. Now he’s able to take the battery out and put it back in which makes it easier for him to use. The smoke alarm works well and you can link it to your WiFi, was very easy to install.

Prob the best budget ones currently out there with some cons
Cons1. I bought 11 and 1 failed on me after 8 months, just keeps going off after 5-10 minutes for no reason. The others are working fine.2. Not interconnected (meaning if one goes off then it sets them all off).3. Does have a noticeable flash of light every few minutes in the dark, but it's not too bad.Pros1. Great price compared to others2. Easy to mount and setup, not connected to wires, only has a battery3. Smart Life app is good and easy to work with4. Can quicky see which alarm goes off and mute/turn off if needed5. Smoke and CO2 (it is recommended to have CO2 detection by any gas appliance)6. Easy to change out CR123 battery, batteries not too expensive7. Let’s you know when the batteries need replaced8. Does its own self-test monthly (I did turn off the notifications, was annoying after a while)9. Combined with webcams in all the rooms, this is very helpful10. Cheap enough to replace bad ones every few years (although they should last 10 years)

So many false smoke alarms
Easy to setup and install. They are very loud! You can silence them with your phone but it doesn’t help if it keeps detecting smoke. 2/3 were fairly close together yet only one was “detecting” smoke. Kept silencing but it kept going off. 2 of the 3 are currently disabled because of false alarms and I have little faith in the 3rd one. I can’t imagine what could be triggering them. Burning toast would always trigger my previous Kidde alarms, but with my new smart alarm in the same location, burnt toast does not even register. Legit smoke=no alarm. No smoke=repeated false alarms. I don’t get it!

Decent smoke detectors
Set up and installation was easy. I have a separate wireless router with a non-complicated Wi-Fi password. I found that long or special character passwords don't play well with wireless IoT devices. I got three of these smoke/CO detectors to replace my existing that were tied into 120VAC with tandem wiring. The AEGISLINK Wi-Fi do not tie together nor do they integrate with Alexa directly. I had some left over devices that I used to get Alexa to monitor the activation of either smoke or CO through Smart Life app and Yolink to set off a siren. Alexa would speak through-out the house and turn on all bedroom lights. I will now sit back and see how these detectors hold up. The display is not as detailed as in the pictures. It takes nine (9) minutes for the unit to reset and the Smart Life app to return to normal. You can silence the alarm on the detector with the app, but you cannot perform a test with the app. That is done by pushing the button on the detector itself. I used can smoke to test my detectors.

Does it deserve 1, 2 or 3 stars
Well I mounted it flat against the ceiling I even drilled 2 holes into the ceiling for nothing because guess what, when I placed a rolled up burning piece of paper under it to test it out with smoke and believe me that paper was smoking but not once did the alarm sound. Then I took it from off the ceiling and took a smoking rolled up piece of paper under it and it still didn’t go off. Then I turned it up wards and then the alarm started ringing and sending phone alerts. So it only will detect smoke if it’s not in a ceiling position but would in a wall positioning instead. Also , every one in the house did cough and wanted fresh air. My air purifier had to clear the air. The house was very smoky from that small rolled up piece of paper too. On the advertisement it shows that you can place it on the ceiling and on the wall position ( your choice) but mine definitely did not work with the ceiling method setup. I’m glad I found this out ahead of time . I hope it doesn’t fail us if our lives ever needed to depend on it. And I hope the carbon monoxide detection will work. I bought about 3-4 of these. I m confused about how many stars to give because of what has happened so far. I may have recorded a video of the testing out but I’m not sure. I’m not happy about that and I’m not happy about the holes on my ceiling. So I had to drill more holes but on the wall this time. And Just thinking about all of this upsets me.

Works as advertised
Works. Some people said it didn't work with the car exhaust test, so I tried it. It took about a minute under the exhaust pipe to register, then I got 850ppm with the alarm and wifi alert. I guess it takes a little bit for the gas to get into the sensors, as it took about a minute or two in fresh air for it to go back down to 0ppm. Worked as intended. Had no issue adding to the Wi-Fi, and yes, almost all wifi devices and sensors operate on the 2.4g, not 5g (2.4g has longer range).
