Powerflush is the way to go!
When these first came out in consumer toilets way back, I'd say in the late '80's or '90's maybe, I had to have it. A couple of years later I bought a 2nd for the other bathroom. I sold the house in 2020 and they both were still working perfectly. I never had a problem, never had to replace a part. They just worked. Now, here I am today, 2023-10-21, and I installed a toilet with a Flushmate 504 model, six years ago this past September. Last week it began to make a squeaking noise right where it usually shuts off. The next morning I wake up and the squeak is continuous and I look into the tank and see not quite a quarter inch of water. The tank should never show water in it. Long story short, I ended up buying a new 504 unit. This after I had bought a cartridge to hopefully fix the old original one. But, here's the kicker. After replacing both clamps at the hose ends there was still a slow leak at the supply valves. Neither Amazon nor the manufacturer web site had any available. Not wanting to spend days shopping around the local plumbing warehouses and other places, I just bought a whole new unit here. It was easy to bolt in and adjust per the instructions and I am once again a happy camper. I am going to keep the old unit in the box that the new one came in in hopes that one day I will be able to order and or buy the lower supply valve piece. As I know the units made today will not last as long as the first ones I had bought. Hopefully, the lower supply valve piece will become available and this is not a piece that the manufacturer does not sell as to help them sell more of the whole units. I hope this helps you in some way. I still love the Flushmate powerflush!

Dimensions/Hardware
WOW!!! I am very let down. 1) There should be "DIMENSIONs" shown SOMEWHERE. 2) There should be a "PARTS INCLUDED" listing SOMEWHERE. I digress - This unit DOES NOT FIT ALL TANKS. If your toillette tank is less than 14" side to side, the Flushmate is too wide. Next - the unit comes WITHOUT any flush handle hardware. Hardware will cost an additional $41.99. Much to my demise I am returning the Flushmate and didn't check if the cartridge wasn't already installed but "THAT" would have been another $43.99. So to get the flushmate installed the original $166 would end up being $251.97. Not to mention the pain of waiting for all of the "now needed" accessories to arrive. This item is a VERY EASY installation (all things considered) but there were no instructions or pamphlet discussion about the cartridge. I learned (thanks to YOUTUBE) the catridge has to be calibrated which is easy enough but what is the frequency to change it out? Keep the original packaging too! My "RETURN WARNING" was "If not double boxed I'd be charged a restocking fee". Such a neat product but failed miserably gouging for more money from the buyer than necessary. If you really want one HOME DEPOT carries one at $202.00 "WITH" dimensions listed.

Good fit
Ordered this as a replacement, and it was a good fit. Note of caution- mine did not come with the lever and handle parts, so I re-used what I had. I guess that’s normal, but I didn’t realize that was the case when I ordered.

Powerful!
Replaced the old tank that had a crack starting to form right where the seem on the old tank was. Took a good hour to take the old one out and put the new one in. Honestly, the longest part was adjusting the actual flushing mechanism to the correct height. At first it was to high and the tank wouldn't shut off. Few turns of the screwdriver fixed that and saved me at least 100 bucks versus a whole new toilet. All the instructions and extra parts are included. There's even a second main gasket that wasn't included with the original tank that provides a better seal, which is great. Note, the only thing that could have made this easier was a hex wrench, but a really huge adjustable pipe wrench did just fine for me. Naturally, a pair of pliers, a small Philips screwdriver, and a small adjustable wrench will round out the tools necessary if you want to attempt this.
