The directions were hard to understand.
It’s a good hinge, and I had trouble understanding the directions until I watch the video. Look at all the pictures when you order it and figure out where the bracket goes to the lid I had several dimensions to choose from so I finally had to put the lid up at 90° and put the bracket in that position at work great.Go ahead and buy this hinge.

Good product, except for the installation instructions
I agree with the reviews that said the product is great, but the instructions are garbage. The installation manual is more of a manufacturing specification, and the video is more of an advertisement. I got lucky and installed it correctly.

Finally Soft Close Bench Seat Lid Support That Actually Works!
The media could not be loaded. This was my third attempt to find hinges/bench lid support for a bench seat that I built. I have three small children and I knew I had to do something to prevent little fingers from getting pinched. These actually work! I can drop the lid from any height and the lid slowly drops down, see video. No idea how long the will last but they keep the lid propped open at 105 degrees and then a quick tug of the lid causes it to gently fall. No pinched fingers to date!

Don't even think about it.
Instructions were poor and led to faulty installation. I did all of the measurements in advance, and still this device was a serious pain in the rear, and it locks, really locks, and is impossible to unlock and then the slow close is only after you bring the lid down several inches. Additionally the slow close means it takes 3 minutes or 4 minutes. I would not recommend. I deserve a refund. The trouble was not worth the time. I had to buy a local one because this stupid thing would not work and this was not user error.

Easy Install on 18 inch Lid
The hardest problem finding a soft closer is matching the right size closer for the weight of the door. This closer works very well with my 8-10 lb. lid. I also like the locking feature when it is opened. The instructions were good and the dimensions they give for position of the device are accurrate. BTW this was my 3rd try at getting the right closer. This one works very well .

Not for outdoors!
These worked well but not for use outside! They quickly rusted out and became unusable. My fault!
