Constantine: The Complete Series

good interpritation of movie , enjoyable , pity there was only one series

Love this show. Was very annoyed when it got cancelled. Should have been given a chance to grow and find it's audience. (Like Supergirl) Matt Ryan is brilliant as John Constantine. So happy when he joined Arrowvirse. Definitely recommend buying if you love Arrow and DC Legends of Tomorrow.

Good viewing a pity that they only made the one season

If your first experience of Matt Ryan’s “Constantine” is the watered-down version that appeared in one episode of “Arrow” & the third & fourth seasons of “Legends of Tomorrow”, then the“Constantine” series might come as a bit of a shock, as it’s full on horror, with some Buffy styled lighter touches & some quite entertaining British terminology.As with a lot of first seasons, it's as much about setting the premise for the show & laying the down foundations for future seasons. Which is of course extremely frustrating as the series was cancelled after it’s first season.What makes the show so appealing is the John Constantine is such an interesting character, is to say he has his vices, would be an considerable understatement.So great series, just don’t get too attached to the characters within in it.

I had originally watched this on Amazon Prime when it first came out and absolutely loved it. I hesitated in buying the series as it got cancelled and didn’t want to be left with a cliffhanger that may never be resolved.Eventually, I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase the Blu-Ray. I’m so glad I did, I watched it through with my daughter and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.The box set comes with three disks.The special effects are very well done and the story, character develop and acting are pretty solid.Could have done with better special features, but the ones on the disk are not bad either.Picture quality and sound are very good too as you would expect from a Blu-Ray disk.I hope one day Warner Brothers realise what great characters and series they have in their hands and finally give us a second season.For those interested, Constantine has become a regular addition to Legends Of Tomorrow played by the same actor, Matt Ryan, plus there is an 18 certificate animated film and two Justice League Dark animated films voiced by Matt Ryan too.I do recommend this series, just remember that there’s a cliffhanger that may never be addressed.Overall I would give this series an A+

Love the TV show Constantine shame they only did one season

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this, (I was already familiar with the character from legends of tomorrow) so I knew that and the actor did a great job of the title role. It’s a bit darker and a little bit quirky but nothing too weird. Story is decent enough, support actors are good and the effects are also pretty decent. Such a shame this story was never continued. Especially after I saw the closing scene of the last episode.

Bought this for my Brother for his Birthday and now ordered one for myself (and I am 100% sure that I will be ordering for other Family Members in the very near future). Was so thrilled to have found this! And that it plays on all Dvd/Blu-ray players! From start to finish its immensely awesome! Gosh! All Actors and Actresses play their parts brilliantly! Everyone loves a Superhero. And everyone loves a Villain. But come on! An Anti-Hero like John Constantine we all bloomin adore! These beloved Characters, Actors, Actresses and Us Fans deserve at least 4 more seasons! Come on! Someone please start a petition! Please, please, please! I would if I could but I wouldn't know how or what to do?! There are so, so, so, so many of us who want more of this excellent show! Let are prayers and pleading be answered for goodness sake! So if you haven't watched this...what are you doing?! You need to watch this like NOW! Buy if you are a Fan of this awesome character that is JOHN CONSTANINE! And just remember...you have been warned!

This show was awesome, illustrated Constantine the character almost perfectly (con artist, hero, mercenary)How accurate the languages used or translations are beyond me, but I think a fun inclusion.The visuals and special effects are hit or miss, but again fun because it's illustrating a character and universe from a different era (sure the show presents itself as modern times, but the comic originated in the 1980s)Overall, if you dig supernatural stuff, darker comic stuff, then enjoy this short series for what it is, and could have been.

Awesome as Dean Winchester in Supernatural would say. I love this tv-show and I would like to see more. But unfortunately it only runned for one season. And what a cliffhanger. Now I'm wondering what kind of angel Manny is. I have my suspicions of who he is. Now I have seen the movie and the tv-show. Now I'm waiting for the sequel to the movie. And I have reserved the comicbooks from the library. I highly recommend this tv-show.

Zuerst einmal: Die DVD, die ich hier gekauft habe, ist entweder Regionalcode frei oder hat den europäischen Regionalcode, sie lässt sich jedenfalls problemlos auf deutschen Geräten abspielen! Diese Information habe ich lange nirgends gefunden und das hat mich davon abgehalten, die DVDs früher zu kaufen.Es ist wirklich, wirklich schade, dass diese Serie nicht weitergeführt wurde und dass sie nie in Deutschland ausgestrahlt wurde. Auf John Constantine bin ich durch die anderen DC-Serien (Arrow und Legends of tomorrow) gestoßen und für mich war schnell klar, dass ich diese Serie unbedingt auch sehen wollte. Und es hat sich wirklich gelohnt! Die Serie bietet alles, was ich mir gewünscht habe, und noch viel mehr. Die Handlung ist spannend und kurzweilig, manchmal lustig, manchmal gruselig, aber nicht zu blutig.Die Charaktere wirken alle sehr dreidimensional und sind toll gespielt. Allen voran natürlich Constantine selbst, den Matt Ryan ganz anders verkörpert, als den Constantine aus dem Film. Aber hier kann man nur sagen: Matt Ryan spielt John Constantine nicht, er ist John Constantine. Es wirkt so natürlich und realistisch, wie er ihn darstellt, dass das Zusehen einfach nur Spaß macht und man richtig mit diesem dunklen Charakter mitfühlt, bei dem eben doch mehr hinter der Fassade steckt als es nach außen hin vielleicht scheint.Die Themen der 13 Folgen sind vielfältig und ich hatte nicht einmal das Gefühl, dass die Thematik sich stark wiederholt, auch wenn es natürlich immer wieder um Dämonen, Engel und das Übernatürliche geht. Hier muss ich auch sagen, dass mich die Serie sehr an die Anfänge von Supernatural erinnert haben und dass sie sicher jedem Supernatural Fan große Freude machen würde, da es doch einige Parallelen gibt, ohne dass das eine wie eine Kopie von dem anderen wirken würde.Wenn man sich darauf einlässt, sollte man natürlich wissen, dass die Serie auf einem Cliffhanger endet. Ich finde ihn aber bei weitem nicht so "schlimm", wie andere und muss sagen, dass ich es einfach nur schade finde, dass dieses Potential verschenkt wurde. Mit der letzten Wendung in der letzten Episode hätten sich so viele interessante Möglichkeiten aufgetan, doch leider wurde die Serie danach abgesetzt. Aber ein Trost ist, dass es zumindest noch einen animierten Film gibt. Vielleicht greift dieser die Storyline noch einmal auf, das werde ich wohl bald erfahren. :)Alles in allem eine absolute Empfehlung für alle Comic Fans und Fans des Übernatürlichen!
