This REALLY works!
This unit, with initial testing on the default 115 power, gives really good, solid spot welds. With just two pieces of 0.15mm strip, the backs of the welds in the lower one have visibly melted and slightly opened up in the centre - see the first photo. With a piece of the same strip on an old 18650, the welds are rock solid - trying to break them tears the spots out of the strip, as in the second photo.I have no idea of longevity or reliability, but my initial impression is: excellent. For comparison: I first tried a 7500mAH battery one, "79 gears". With two pieces of 0.15mm strip, the lower one was softened slightly but not actually melted at all and the upper one just pulled away from it. The same when trying to weld a strip to a battery, it just about fell off. That went back.

Decent welder... but...
This is a pretty nice portable spot welder. It does take a while at first to charge the supercap in it before you can use it, however that's not really a major issue considering it actually packs a pretty good wallop for the price... And doesn't trip breakers like the AC spot welder I had before... That's a big win! What isn't a win though, and it's actually a problem on a safety standpoint, is that the power supply provided with my device is not UK compliant... at all.For a power supply to be fully compliant, it MUSThave a BS1363 compliant FUSED power plug - the one provided is not. The moulding does not guard the pins from being touched on insertion into a socket, the earth pin is sleeved (it should not be as this can cause a floating ground if your device is Earthed. Since this device is not and is classed as a double-insulated appliance this is "fine" from a user standpoint, but not from a regulaory / compliance standpoint.), there is no fuse holder in the plug (which is also a fire hazard since the only thing stopping the mains input wire becoming a makeshift light bulb is a 32 amp breaker) and the pins are really fragile. The Neutral pin on mine came pre-broken!! On a proper compliant plug, it would break everything in the box before you saw a dent or scratch on the pins! Basically what I'm saying is a compliant BS1363 plug = the Nokia 3310 of mains voltage power connectors.the wiring must be colour coded to EU Standards (Blue neutral, Brown live / hot) - This power supply's wiring is not. it is just two black conductors, which are also unbelievably thin... thin to the point that jamming a plug on it if I was going to would be a challenge, as the wires are so thin they probably wouldn't be clamped down properly by the screws in the plug.I've also had bad experiences with mains wires as thin as the ones on this type of power supply breaking apart over time... Now, I like a good smoke-show, molten metal and flames as much as the next guy, but I like to have that happen outdoors in a controlled environment, not in my house with a load of Li-ion cells nearby! I'd rather prevent my house becoming a Luton Airport car park type scenario!!I will instead though be using my RC charger to power this welder, as that has a bench power supply mode on it, and I have appropriate adapters to make it work. For those who don't have that luxury though - charging the supercapacitor in mine only pulled 2.1A max and the welder idles at 0.6A when the cap is charged, so a 12v 2.1 or 2.5A power supply will be an adequate replacement for the one supplied. I would advise this as an option if you're wanting to not have to fiddle around with making the supplied adapter safe to use

Fantastic bit of kit
Works better than I expected, I've bought 3 battery spot welders in the last week and returned them because they just didn't work properly. This spot welder works exactly how it should.I wish I had this 3 years ago when I built my first ebike battery.

Great spot welder beats my sunkko 709a hands down
When you first get this spot welder you have to wait for it to charge to over 5volts on the screen witch can take 10-20 mins but once at 5volts it bears my sunkko 709a hands down for its welds comes with some nickel strip to practice on sound some spare copper tips I've built a 14s8p 52v 21700 cells battery pack with 0.2 10mm wide nickel strip and a 20s6p 72v 21700 cells battery pack with 0.3 10mm wide nickel strip and so far and I can't fault it . It's been a god send as the leads on my other spot welder are to shorter and thinner than the seesii one has 6awg leads just remember in the manual their is a guide for the settings for the thickness of nickel strip if you get stuck on what settings to use but essentially go what they say and turn it up or down for your personal preferences

I bought this spot welder, thinking it was a good one. Unfortunately it broke down on the second time I was using it very disappointed so I have sent it back for a refund and bought a different make off of Amazon. Hopefully this new one will be better. Fingers crossed Thank you

Didn't work at all
Set up as per instructions, charged to 5.4v, wouldnt weld on any timing or gear.

Works Great!
I was in the process of welding a bunch of batteries using a BIFRC small welder. It did OK but I was not happy with the consistency of the welds and it sometimes did not seem to provide enough power to secure a good weld. Some nickel strips would easily come off where others seemed fine. I was in the middle of welding when I turned off the machine to cut more strips. When I went to turn it back on, it would not turn on. Since I needed to finish the job, I ordered this unit. More money than I spend on the BIFRC but it had more control options. Well I received the unit, charged per instructions and went at welding again. What a difference. Using .015 nickel strips, and the recommended setting of 20, duration of .5 seconds. I was able to securely and consistently attach all the strips to the batteries without burn through or crappy welds. The sound of each weld sounded distinct. Like a "click" where you know it was a good weld. No burn out on the tips, just consistent strong welds. Hopefully this will last much longer than the last one.

Updated Review: The first unit stopped working but the replacement unit works great
Please read my updated review below.Original Review:The welder only worked for about 20-25 welds before it stopped responding and never worked again. The customer service address listed in the manual never responded to multiple emails. When I first unpacked and tested the welder, I was impressed by the build quality and ease of use of the device. However, after fully charging the device to the recommended levels and making some test welds before I started my battery project, it stopped welding entirely. When it did work, it made beautiful welds on 0.2mm pure nickel strips from a reputable supplier. I was able to dial in the power settings easily to attain strong welds. However it only made about 20-25 total welds before it simply stopped working. The device was still above the recommended charge level, but it simply stopped responding when touching the welding needles to the nickel strips. I've let the device rest for several days and tried again. The display still lights up like it is working, but it just will not weld.I sent multiple emails to the customer service email address listed in the manual, but I have never received a response.Between the unreliability of this device and the lack of any response from the manufacturer's customer service department, I recommend that you do not purchase this welder.Updated Review Dec 9, 2023:After leaving my initial review, the manufacturer got in contact and offered me a choice between a refund or a replacement. I chose the replacement and they sent one out right away. The new unit is working great. It welds different thicknesses of nickel strips beautifully once you dial in the power settings. Full power will blow right through even 0.20mm strips of pure nickel, but you can easily reduce the power down to make nice welds on 0.20mm, 0.15mm or even 0.10mm strips.I am definitely much happier with the replacement unit but I still wish the manufacturer would respond to emails sent to the customer service address listed in the manual.

works great
This product worked great for me. I had previously dealt with similar products from other manufacturers that just did not work. I found this model to have sufficient power to properly spotweld my 21700 battery packs. It is important to follow the instructions and allow adequate charge time. I also found that it is better to use thinner wider battery strips as opposed to thicker. No problem welding 2.0mm strips but works much better with 1.0 and 1.5. I liked the controls and display as it is easy to determine the state and settings of the device. Very happy with my purchase of this, I found it to be much better the other similar units.

This is a good one.
I seen so many of these that were battery powered. I didn't want one like that, because I'm not using it on the go. I'm sitting in one place using it, so I wanted one that plugged in so I knew it would always have the power I needed. With that said. Idk if it's like this with other ones but it was to charge up before you can use it. It takes like about 20mins the first time you use it. If you use it daily it won't be that long. But it has to be above 5v to spot weld. Then you better know how thick your nickel strips are. So you get a good weld. If it's turned up to much. You'll burn right through like nothing. So it is powerful. But I've put four 16650 12v battery packs together with it. When spot welding to a BMS board. Turn power way down to like 10 or less.Works fantastic otherwise.
