As a Dewalt fan, I am happy to report that this Atomic 1/2-inch drill is a winner all around. Its size is deceiving because it delivers an impressive level of torque for such a small package. It has two settings for rotation speed, which allows changing from a VERY slow spin rate (nice for sensitive surfaces and hobby projects) to a fast and hi-torque rate, much like my larger Dewalt cordless.The 20V motor provides great torque and great battery life. A super upgrade in these new models is the change in location of the helpful. illuminating light (it's under the bit chuck on my older model, which leaves the drill bit tip in shadow). Now, the light is just above the battery in the base, which allows bright illumination directly around the drill bit and surface being drilled.Overall, this drill is a "10" - small but more than powerful enough for small jobs, with a great ergonomic design that's nicely balanced, easy to hold, great at illuminating and easily controlled for delicate drilling. In construction there isn't any room for extension cords. DeWalt drills have the best batteries of any of the brands and they deliver power as needed for a long time. I've never run through a battery in a day's work. This drill is better than other DeWalts because of its compact size. Often times big drills don't fit into the space so compact is a big advantage. Plus, I'm not lugging around a heavy tool all day. The clip fits on my tool belt and I forget that it's there. I can't say enough good things about this drill. It's the one to buy.

I loved everything about this drill from the moment I opened the box. But, today I did a bigger project and used the drill for about 3 hours or so. Now I have a blister on my knuckle, at the top of my thumb. Drill is designed to rest there, which would be okay, if it had some type of padding, or something, to soften it up a bit. I plan to figure out how to accomplish that myself because the drill is excellent. I am, and will continue to be, a fan of all things Dewalt. Just hopt they will address this slight issue in design.

I absolutely love this drill driver! Purchased as an upgrade to an older 20v dewalt I simply wore out. My wife already stole it and wants to keep it! Smaller, lighter, more powerful.

I like that it is more powerful than the Black & Decker that I used to have.
