Product Description This collection digs deeper than previous hits collections to take you across 37 key cuts by these Euro-Pop kings/queens. That's the 2-CD version; the DVD has every video they shot plus a previously unseen Dancing Queen performance at the Royal Swedish Opera. Hits on both releases: Dancing Queen; Take a Chance on Me; Waterloo; The Winner Takes It All; The Name of the Game; Fernando; SOS; I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do; Knowing Me, Knowing You; Does Your Mother Know; When All Is Said and Done; Mamma Mia; Chiquitita , and more! .co.uk Is there anything which screams the 1970s most indelible pop cultural clichés-more than the Swedish pop phenomena Abba and their Definitive Collection? While many a pundit snootily dismissed them during their prime as some sort of prefabricated aberration, their worldwide popularity peaked somewhere just south of Beatlemania. Indeed, Abba's music was as finely tooled and crafted as anything to come from a Volvo or Ikea factory --if occasionally more economically potent. This double-disc, 37-track anthology comes neatly on the heels of Mama Mia, the smash, if unlikely, stage show based on the band's hits, and documents every single released by the band's Polar label in their home country was as well as key tracks released as singles elsewhere internationally. When you hear the term "Europop," this is the canon from whence the term sprang. With a continental sense of vocal neo-classicism, informed by just the right ethnic clichés (and oft wed to the era's insistent 4/4 disco beat) to make songs like "Mama Mia", "Fernando", "Chiquitita" and "Voulez-Vous" work on a global scale, the writing team of Bjorn Ulvaeus/Benny Anderson and their respective partners in music and life, Agnetha Faltskog and Frida Lyngstad, developed the seamless, wall-of-sound productions contained herein. Definitive Collection features a rare single remix of "Ring, Ring" and a 1979 promo-only extended mix of "Voulez-Vous" as bonus tracks, as well as a concise, illustrated history of the band and each track. --Jerry McCulley

Nostalgia at its best. Magical meaningful lyrics
This ABBA CD was a walk down memory lane and especially having seen the live on stage Mamma Mia the musical in Wolverhampton last week… it ticked the appetite once more.

Abba - Definitive Collection CD
We purchased this CD collection as the original one I purchased when it was first available has been used so regularly it was loosing its perfection and very much needed replacing.I've always enjoyed Abba since they first won Euro with their 'Waterloo' and for the past 6yrs have lived with my partner and his African Grey Parrot - the parrot recognises an Abba hit whichever one he hears the first couple of notes of and sings and dances to their hits in his cage! They've never been told they have a fan parrot and don't think they'd believe it if they were!G. Whitehouse/A. Hiles

Abba double Album Review
Probably the best collection of Abba songs in one package. It contains all of the well known titles as well as a few lesser known ones. The collection certainly shows the styles changes during their period of prolific song writing..Have a read of the booklet enclosed with this two cd collection. Its one of the more detailed information "sleeve notes" that I have found interesting about the groups progress and style changes.I also highlights the groups inner struggles.I have several other ABBA cd's that have duplicated tracks on this cd and the only critism I have is that although there is a couple of remastered "extra tracks" the overall sound quality is disappointing of these and the more popular tracks included. The whole cd lacks any real space or dynamics that my other cd's of ABBA have for the same songs. Its as though the audio engineering has over compressed the original recordings. Its a pity because I have always liked ABBA for their Sound and dynamics in their songs and with this copy it doesn't excite.

Best CD to buy if wanting a first ABBA collection
This is essentially ABBA Gold & More Gold on one double cd album there may be the odd extra track here & there and they're not exactly that. They are all the famous tracks from ABBA So you are getting a great collection of tracks. I would imagine that any true ABBA fan would have the songs already but for anyone looking to buy their first ABBA cd this is probably the best one to go for.

Abba top charts again
Being one of my favourite groups of all time, it came as a shock that I did not have a good few of there titles. This album put paid to that, an absolutely great album an an absolute must for any ABBA fan. As for the supplier, it was first class from start to finish. No hassle just press the appropiate buttons and hey presto, delivery in great time. I would recommend to anyone.
