ZEBRAFine Writing Instrument Mechanical Pencil (DM7-300)

Not long after I started using this pencil, I began enjoying the works of Shakespeare and sketching (drafting really) complex architectural diagrams. The eraser included in this pencil is like a backseat in a sports car. It's there but you'd be a fool to consider it functional. But really once you are endowed with the universal forces of precision that forged this pencil, you will scoff at the need to erase as it will be fully eclipsed by an obsession to create.

The yucky factor began with the packaging itself — a plain, clear envelope with nothing but the usual Amazon warehouse stickers plastered on it. The pencil itself is manufactured using unimaginably cheap plastic that, once placed in your hand, results in an immediate desire to shake it out of your hand. The section of the barrel that you grip is a series of circular bands wrapping around the circumference of the barrel. These bands are a hard plastic that digs uncomfortably into your fingers. The metal clip is weak and thin. When writing, the lead retracts back into the barrel when applying moderate pressure. The feed of the lead is also erratic. There isn’t a single positive thing I can say for this miserable mechanical pencil. Junk, and worse.

These are my absolute favorite pencil. As an engineer I use mechanical pencils daily and this has been my favorite for over 10 years. They last a long time, they are not bulky in your hand, they rarely jam up even during field work, they have a nice thin line.

I ordered this pencil a little over a year ago. I felt that it was a good idea to give a long-term look at the product, as well as the first impressions.The pencil had taken just over a month to arrive, though since it was overseas delivery, I can't fault the seller on that. Just something to keep in mind if you plan on ordering from a seller internationally. The pencil was packaged decently and did not have any damage or defects. It dispensed lead normally, was not scratched or broken.The lead-type indicator on the side is a bit loose, and depending on how you hold your pencil it may glide or move as you're drawing. That's probably the weakest part of this item.The eraser is alright, it'll get the job done if you need it to. However, I would highly recommend buying a different eraser to use if you're more serious about art (a kneaded eraser, mechanical eraser, electric, whatever your preference is).The lead itself was very durable, and, despite its size, didn't break as easily as I would have thought. You can put pressure without the lead snapping off. You will need to replace the lead after a few weeks to a month though, so it might be a smart idea to order some refills with the pencil.The barrel is thick enough, and has a good weight to it. It feels very nice in your hand.Overall, a 5 star pencil. If you have the money to spend, this is definitely a good option. It's held up for over a year with no issues whatsoever, it will definitely last a long time. I recommend this product

I love this pencil. It fits nicely in the hand and is light weight enough to use all day. I do like the little hardness dial as well. The pencil is clearly marked with the lead size on the end which is a nice touch. I was worried about lead breaking easily being so fine but there is a metal tube that stabilizes the lead for you.I would definetly buy more of these in this size or others. I truly enjoy using these for everything from writing to drafting and art.

For an inexpensive mechanical pencil, this is a good deal. It's very light. It doesn't have the aesthetics of the better pencils, but it's functional, and affordable enough to be almost disposable.

Just wanted to say that this pencil made its way into the laundry, came out in one piece, sat in rice for a couple of days as a precaution, and still writes wonderfully. It's one of my favorites.

Writes smoothly, comes with I think two pieces already inside. Quality barrel. Very well balanced for a mathematician who likes using pencil with thin, crisp writing.

I have now had a few of these mechanical pencils. They are a high quality product - especially for their price. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
