It's not value for money but I love it
Background: I'm a photographer. Not loaded so I'm a budget specialist. For my exhibitions I send my images to the printer. I got fed up of endless digital images just on a drive to view on a screen so I researched the market for something Polaroid-ish for my other images. Having several Polaroid cameras I enjoy the tangability and almost immediacy of a printed film image and that's the spirit I wanted to capture by having this Instax Square. I love the square format and when I'm on the go it's nice to print a little image for someone while out n about. This comes with my own personal caveat... Process it on your phone. The blacks are smush otherwise and shadow detail can be lost in the print unless that is your intention. I use my Fuji cameras and an old Samsung Note 5 for Instax prints. The picture quality once I learnt the characteristics of the print works well for me with a few reprints as the blacks and shadows were crushed. I find there's a blue hue to my prints and I've gone through an album full of prints. If that's not to your liking you can edit. Syncing to my Note 5 or via Fujifilm cameras has been easy. You'll have to register your serial number against the free app on Googleplay. The film pack is easy as to insert. The film packs aren't cheap but for me and my personal work it's worth it. The printer has a weird rubber cover for the charger and mine hasn't fully closed since I opened it. It's no big deal to me but aesthetically a bit of rubber jutting out isn't pretty. Anyway, I hope my review helps you decide what you go for.

Compact and brilliant
I bought this for a friend that's expecting, to print out those memories instead of keeping them on their phones. To share with family and friends. They loved it. Excellent Polaroid prints great portable size. Good looking and it was a great price. Thanks amazon.

A good picture every time
I have had both the instax mini camera and now have the instax square printer and the printer wins hands down.I have had no issues with the printer, when I had the camera the spring broke and ruined a whole box of film. With the printer, every picture has the right lighting and angle and I can go back and pick the best pictures I took on my phone, which takes better pictures than the camera can. The camera was consistently was either over-exposed or under-exposed and the view finder was not the most accurate. With the printer, I can also make multiple prints of the same picture to share with my friends, whereas with the camera we had to take the same picture five times. The app initially is a little annoying as you use wifi to connect to it rather than Bluetooth and the editing tools are a little clunky but as I use other apps to edit and just the install app to print it works out fine. The film is slightly more expensive but after printing over two hundred pictures, and only charging it twice, it's a great value for money and I love the pictures I have.

Great printer
Great quality, quick. Cartridges are pricey (same used with the square camera) but with the printer you get full control of what is printed. The app works great with it. Will be pricey to print a high number of photos if that’s all you want it for but it’s great when using it for projects or regularly printing small amounts and it’s worth the price if this is the style you’re after. Printer is small and light and easily transportable. Easy to use.

Does work, documentation lacking though
Almost returned this item, but eventually worked out how to work it. product is a 5, but 4 because documentation is so poor and connecting finnicky.Probably best to purchase the newer square printer which uses bluetooth. For any android users who may end up in a similar position, here are the key points:- Location must be enabled on your device (I keep it disabled normally and spend over an hour here)- Disconnect from your current wifi network, but keep wifi enabled when attempting to connectPossible other steps- If printing doesn't work connect directly to the printer wifi when attempting to print. Give it 10-20s after turning on before attempting to connect (my device shows error and disconnects if attempt connection too soon)- If still does not work forget the network of the printer and try again- Seen reported some users can't print if mobile data enabled- Double double check you have location enabled and have accepted all app permissions!Other print quality stuff- Darks end up darker than most printers. For photos with dark patches, best to boost up brightness 10-20% and also turn up constrast slightly, imo looks better sligtly washed out than indecipherably darkOtherwise, good prints, fun and a 5 / 5

Excellent device for photographers and artists
Got this the other day and am very pleased on the whole. Photos are a little smaller than classic Polaroids. The smartphone app for iOS is fairly straight forward but buyer beware, you need to switch back and forth between your wifi settings, use regular wifi to download images to the app if you have them stored on iCloud, then switch to the printer's dedicated wifi to send the image from phone to device. Sounds a chore, it doesn't take long, prints are good quality. For more technically minded users, it is worth printing a pantone style colour chart as your first print. Compare the colours in the photo to the actual chart then give the results some consideration when you wish to print. The app for the phone has editing features on board, which will allow for a degree of colour accuracy tweaks.

Useless, stopped worked after a few years
When it worked, it printed reasonable photos. However, setting it up is overly difficult. Unless you use it regularly you'll forget how it works. I've just dug mine out after not using it for over 2 years, and it simply does not work. Good look troubleshooting it, the instructions and online help is useless. Mines now in the binFeel like it's a waste of money considering how much use I got out of it. I won't be replacing it.
