Really happy with the Nanit monitor. I'm familiar with miku after inheriting an old one from a friend, so that's my benchmark.I'll start with what I really like.. the insights are far better than Miku. In fact, not even comparable. I love that when I open the monitor Nanit tells me exactly what I want to know (eg "Mom, I've been sleeping for 20 minutes." or "Mom, I was attended to 15 minutes ago.") It's a small thing, but it makes it so I don't have to remember what time I put him down or when a caretaker attended to him last. There is sooo much mental math you do as a mom, this is one feature that takes a huge mental load off a parent.Also on the topic of insights, the fact that I can easily look back and see exactly my baby's night went is really helpful. It allows me to see when he was up, how quickly he put himself down, when exactly he woke up in the morning in case he doesn't make any noise immediately. Miku's insights from the night before don't load until noon that day, and they don't include the video along with the details of what was happening (Eg "movement"). This is another small detail that makes a huge difference to the mental load during the day.The monitor loads instantly whereas Miku takes a little time to load and open the video.The major downside of the Nanit is that you have to add the band to monitor the breathing. It's not a big ordeal, but enough of a barrier that we forget easily and sometimes just opt not to use it because it's a pain. I really appreciate that there isn't more gear I have to put on my baby to get the breath monitoring with the Miku.Small cons of the Nanit include some minor issues with the user interface. When you swap from vertical to landscape, the buttons don't adjust with the screen.Overall, I've decided to swap my Miku for the Nanit at home and use the Miku at my MILs house.

This monitor literally changed our lives. We had a regular non-WiFi monitor for the first 5 months of our daughter’s life and absolutely hated it. It wouldn’t stay connected, constantly froze, disconnected in the middle of the night waking us up etc. A friend of ours had an extra Nanit that they brought on a trip and let us use it and we bought it the next morning after using it. The connection is incredible, night vision works so well, and you can track how long your baby slept for. This was key for us because we kept forgetting to keep track of exactly what time she went down for naps lol. The motion and sound sensors are super accurate as well.A lot of people don’t want a monitor that is ONLY on your phone, but you just “push” the application to the background and you can use your phone as normal. It’s literally never been a problem. We also used an old iPhone in the living room as a “back up monitor” incase one of us didn’t want it on our personal phone for whatever reason.Couldn’t be happier with a product!!

Super thankful my family got this monitor. We had our first baby earlier this year so I have plenty of new mama anxiety, which this camera helps alleviate when baby sleeps. We are transitioning from bassinet to crib, and also from swaddle to sleepsacks, so having a close eye on him is especially important to me. The apps camera view is nice and large where I can see the whole nursery, but can focus it just on the crib area if I want to. The notification defaults are very sensitive when you first set it up, as in I was receiving a movement notice whenever I walked around. However this is where it's good to tailor the view to just the crib and adjust the notification sensitivity in the settings. I got the floorstand so we can easily move it around as he grows into new furniture. Definitely recommend this for new parents learning the ropes.

If you've got more money than sense, this is a simple baby monitor that promises you plenty of features and delivers on very few. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for basic features, and especially if you're looking for stability and reliability.This product, and indeed the company that sells it, is designed to separate first time parents from their money by selling peace of mind in convenient add-on packages. Everything is designed to nickle-and-dime you for each potential feature, including all of the features they promise in the description. It is very unclear that this is the case until you actually install and use the app. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that you will only be buying this product as an introductory charge -- It costs $300/year extra to store videos for 7 days. The most basic features are pay-gated behind nonsense fees. The package you get for buying this overpriced monitor only lasts a few months, and then all of your features get disabled if you don't fork up another payment.Want sleep tracking? Pay extra. This barely works, by the way. The Nanit app says the baby's fast asleep even if they aren't even in the crib.Want breathing tracking? Pay extra. Also it only works with their specific Nanit-brand clothing.Activity tracking? Pay extra.How about the Day Dashboard? Well, that's included as long as you use the wall mount. If you found the wall mounting sub-par and vaguely unsafe like a lot of these reviewers, you'd probably be better off buying the Multi Stand (which of course costs extra) to replace the wall-mount, and safely placing it out of the baby's reach. If you've changed mounting stands, the Day Dashboard feature is not available anymore, even if it's mounted at an identical location and orientation.There's an online portal so you can view your cameras in a browser, but it does not work 80% of the time and will present you with a loading screen. It will also kick you out every few hours and enforce a new MFA log-in using your phone, completely nullifying the benefit of this feature.The physical design of the the wall mount is a cheap cable-hider and a wall-attaching head unit with a chip in it to tell the camera you bought the stand and not one of their significantly cheaper (and more reliable) competitors. It's flimsy, and eager to fall apart at a moment's notice. The camera head isn't attached by anything substantial, just two prongs and a USB C power connector. It will fall off frequently if you don't tape it on with electrical tape. The camera has no batteries, and will fail the moment the head unit is disconnected from a power source, which will frequently happen due to small vibrations.So what exactly are you paying for? A half-working baby monitor and the privilege to buy additional add-ons for each of the features they list in the description. The company would be happy to send you marketing on all of their products, and some of the easily-searchable tips on baby care for free though!If you purchased the monitor ahead of the baby's birth, you cannot return it. Stylish paperweight, though.
