I needed a heater for my RV. I bought this one and was pleasantly surprised with how well this heater works. I only need to use the low setting to get enough heat for my RV. Great product I highly recommend this heater.

Heats area nicely, no smelly fumes and has multiple settings. Very portable.

These heaters are great... I own 3 of them. Most recently I tried to get the one with the elctric fan but for some reason the government has an issue... David from Amazon and the manufacturer took great care of me... super satisfied customer John W.Mr Buddy, please let us all know when you can install fans again.

Use only the little one pound green propane bottles. Don't use a 20 pound bottle of propane, unless you have a propane filter connected to your Big Buddy. I killed two of them before I learned that valuable lesson. The hoses you use to connect a 20 pound bottle have little particles inside, from the manufacturing process, cutting the rubber hose, I think. Those particles clog the heater and make it useless. I can't figure out any way to clear the clogged heaters. The propane filters are cheap, less than $10 bucks, definitely worth the investment.

Radient heat is the only method used here. Product description is very misleading. Also, the fuel filter should be part of the purchase, but it isn't. I'm having to purchase it now as it's recommended in the instructions to do so. Plus, it seems the unit will not properly work without it. The heater shuts off after several minutes of heating. Note: I'm hooking the heater up using a 20lbs propane tank.If the fuel filter doesn't fix the problem, I will be returning the unit. It ignites but no flame starts. I'm having to try 10-15 times to get a flame and it tends to go out as soon as I remove my hand from the dial. This is a faulty design IMO. And yes, the tank is turned on and has sufficient gas.2. The heater seems to works fine with (2) 1 lbs propane tanks attached. I need to test this more to see if there's any other glitches.3. I will be contacting the vendor to see if I've missed anything here. Usually, I do my research and can figure most issues out. My first impression of this product is pretty negative.4. COST. I paid way too much for this given the false description. I would have been much better with the cheaper model.

Bought this heater as I have purchased them in the past. But I will not buy another one. Refused to lite all the way when starting pilot light, and then when trying to turn it on to level 1 heat, it blew the pilot light out.

Upon assembling Big Buddy I attached a 5 gal propane tank to it. I opened up the propane tank but could not get the pilot to light. I replaced the 5 gal tank with two 1lb propane canisters, and it works fine. I checked with MrHeater. Seems there is a safety device in the propane hose #F273704 that shuts off supply from propane tank to Big Buddy. There is no trouble shooting answer in manual regarding this. If it happens, remove the hose from the 5 gal propane tank and tap against the tank or workbench. This will reset the safety device. Reattach the hose to the tank, and slowly open the propane tank. If the propane tank is full or over pressurized, and you open it quickly the safety device will shut down the flow. Other than that I like the heat output and design of Big Buddy.

Propane tank only - the way to connect. Double check the hose you are getting to make sure it is the right one. Not all models are listed in the heater inside. The models are length differentiators I think. Get a filter and use gas tape not plumbers tape. As far as connecting to propane. Check for leaks. Had to go through a few of my tanks to get it to seat well. More the prop tank issue

Arrived as promised. As we only intend to use it for emergencies, we decided to test it. Works great, puts out a huge amount of heat. We are pleased with this purchase.
