Q: Can the strip be screwed on to the frame?

The magnetic strip has a channel that it goes through. The magnetic strip is not a problem. It's the sweep underneath the door which I need to have a channel of 1/2 inch. I only have seen 3/8 inch so far. Thank you. Mark

I believe you should be able to return but that is better answered by the vendor

I only installed the one on the frame and left the one on the door in place and my door works fine. You should only need one strip.

Q: How is this installed? Does it come with instructions?

There should be 2 small channels on the frame of the shower where the shower door closes. The old strip simply pulls out. If it is stuck, take some WD-40 and spray along the old strip and let it set for a few minutes then pull it out with a pair of pliers. Take the new strip (wide side with tabs) against the frame and simply start sliding the new strip into the channel. It works best if you start at the top and work down. Hope this helps. It took about 5 minutes to install mine. After you have the new strip installed, simply cut off the extra with a pair of side dikes.
