Nice sturdy hose reel cart but can be troublesome when putting the parts together.
Very nice hose cart, moves easily and reels a 100 foot rubber garden hose easily as well. Putting it together was a little tedious as the wheels needed to be placed on the provided axels but it required three hands to depress the keeper button on the axel and there was little play as far as the axel length is concerned. A problem that arose was because of the short axel length, the keeper button did not release to secure the wheel well and on moving the cart, the wheel came off the axel. I remounted the wheel but it kept wanting to come off. My fix was to get a snap clip and feed it into the hole that held the keeper button (I removed the clip holding the keeper button), and then rotated the clip so that it was parallel to the wheel to keep the wheel secured to the axel. I recommend furnishing 4 snap clips to secure all 4 wheels rather than to depend on the keeper buttons.

This hose reel works GREAT!!!!!!!!
After months of looking at big box stores and online, we finally found this metal hose reel which we purchased after being on the the fence about it for some time. But since It had mostly good reviews and was an "Amazon's Choice" product, we bought it and we're VERY glad we did. The fact that the hose reel is metallic and not made of cheap plastic was important to us. The tires don't need air, as they are SOLID rubber. This product was easy for me to assemble and I am not even a DIY-type of person. It performs beautifully and I now I enjoy taking out my hose to do my watering.Upon receipt of the item, I did experience a small issue, but when I contacted their customer service, they were EXTREMELY responsive and sent me the replacement part right away and then followed up with me.So, I have zero complaints about their product and their customer service was TERRIFIC.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM!!!!!!!!

Pretty good hose cart!
Although the frame of the cart is very stout and rigid, it’s not heavy. If you pull a lot of hose, you’ll probably pull the cart over. I added a 4 x 8 x 16 capstone weighs about 35 pounds and used a rubber bungee cord to hold it on top of the axles. I had to take the guide mechanism apart because on the main screw it had a notch in the molded plastic that clicked and bound the screw mechanism, a little filing and good to go. the belt is only an eighth of an inch out of a line.

Wheels don't stay on
First unit arrived with one of the welded on axle holders misaligned, so you could not insert the axle through both sides. One of the axles was also missing one of the spring loaded detents that hold the wheels on (they no longer use cotter pins that I saw in earlier reviews). Can't fix/repair the misaligned welded on joint. Returned.Second unit arrived today. The wheels don't stay on either axle. The spring loaded detents that hold the wheels on don't stick out far enough through the axle to truly trap the wheel and the wheels themselves can push down on the rounded detent and come right off. Can't move this thing a single foot without a wheel coming off. I will drill some holes and add cotter pins as I need this now and can't go through another return. Also for the return, it takes a month (so they say) to inspect the unit for damage and credit you back and in the meantime you have to purchase a new one if you want a replacement. If I didn't need this right now and waste a week with getting a new unit, I would return this and get something else. Most of it looks beefy and well designed overall and the powder coating is nice. Axles have been around a long time. This shouldn't be that hard. Very poor quality control overall and the design of the wheel/axles is not good.

Not as good as my last one...
I usually buy the one without the hose guide and manually try to distribute the hose over the drum, so this time I figured I try the one with the moving guard. Not good for me, because my hose has some breaks in it and I used hose repair kits which are a bit bulky, and they will not go through the guide so I had to unwind the hose and take it out of the guide because the hose got terribly tangled up on the drum. The tires are solid plastic which I was happy for (because the pneumatic ones go flat after a while), but the shafts have little spring-loaded pegs that sometimes let the wheel come off. SO overall it works OK but I don't think I'll buy another one.

Best customer service experience ever!
This reel is far superior to any I've had in the pastAs others have mentioned, the assembly instructions could be better and larger pictures would really help. My problem was I couldn't get enough tension on the belt to operate the hose guide. I called customer service and was told that someone would get back to me.I received an email from Victoria shortly thereafter. I told her that the belt seemed to be too long. She immediately sent me a new belt. Same as the old one.I tried many times to adjust the brackets for the hose guide but couldn't get it low enough on the frame to adequately tension the belt.Emailed Victoria. She offered to send a whole new cart. I told her that I couldn't deal with disassembling the original and repackaging for return. She said that I needn't return it.The replacement arrived in a couple of days. I assembled it and it worked great. No problem with getting proper belt tension. I removed my hoses from the original cart and wound them on the replacement. Curious as to the difference between the two carts, I took another look at the original. Lo and behold, I was now able to adjust the guide brackets to get proper tension. ????????I sent an email to my now good friend, Victoria, and offered to pay for cart number two since this whole problem was obviously something I was doing wrong at first.Victoria responded, saying that I didn't owe them anything! To me, this is unbelievable customer service.Don't hesitate to buy from Giraffe. The certainly stand behind their products even when the only problem is with the customer.
