What I wanted was a thick-lead woodwork pencil that was thin enough to reach tight spaces - yet rugged enough to not be constantly breaking. This pencil, with its slender foreshaft and protective sleeve, met those needs well.

So just wanted to try this product as a framer for 20 years. Really digging the pencil. Easy to use, leads are not too soft....comfortable. all over a pretty good pencil, probably my favorite out of all I tried. Send me a few more and I'll pass them out to other framing crews and we'll see if I can get these out there

I bought these because I wanted something that would be more durable than a standard mechanical pencil. I have to say that the thick lead and different colors are very helpful. I don't break the lead all the time like I did before and they are very easy to swap out the lead.

Pro's: It's well packaged and fits in the hand / easy to hold for marking and layout. The sharpener cuts a fine point on the lead. But is cheap / brittle plastic so use with care. Also fine threads on the sharpener are easy to cross thread when working / wearing gloves.Con's: Every colored lead holder is shown with the same colored lead in the description. They are shipped with black lead in every holder! That means buyer is shorted 4 colored leads!! Since most of the included lead is black this adds up.

My husband does a lot of DIY projects. It never fails that he’ll set down a pen or pencil then can’t find it or doesn’t have it near enough when he needs to mark a measurement. He finally decided to invest in these pencils and hasn’t regretted that decision once. The clip means he’s always got the pencil on him, whether it’s on his shirt pocket or pants, and the pencil marks smoothly on the wood and is easy to see. Definitely worth the investment if you often find yourself doing woodworking projects.

Standard carpenter pencils are okay except sharpening them with a utility knife is a hassle. I had a set of these made by Pica so when I saw these it was a no-brainer. The protective sleeve looks very durable. The choice of colors gives me options depending on the materials I'm writing on. These are very easy to use, just like the typical mechanical pencils.

They have the sharpener in a terrible place. You have to screw off the lead cap to sharpen. Not ideal. I won’t buy these again.
