Super easy to use
Bought this for my 7 year old cause he accidentally messed up a different one his grandma sent him, I bought the 2 pack the blue and the orange. I did the orange one to see if it really worked and to my surprise after only about 4 or 5 hours you can see the crystals starting to grow! The picture is about 12 hours after 1pm to 1am progress. The instructions were super easy and simple to follow, I boiled the water to make sure that it was hot enough to dissolve the powder. The whole process took less than 5 minutes since the water was hot enough it dissolved super quick and cooled down just as fast, you stick the crystal thing in the Hedgehog plop it in the mixture, make sure it's centered put the lid on and watch as the crystals grow. Will definitely buy again. Such a cool experiment for kids and the excitement on their face when they come back hours later to see that it's growing is so cool.

Very easy and fun!
It is real easy and fun experimenting for kids! Honestly, experimenting stuff is sometimes really bothering like have to help kids all the time beside them. But this is just need hot water and watching kids during mixing it. Then just wait a week without touching! During waiting time, kids are still so excited to see crystal growing! And they all are turned out so cute! Highly recommend!!!

Fun hogs
Fun for the kids. I was able to split them to give each child one.

Good craft but with reservations...
Got this for me and my daughter to do together. She loves the cute little hedgehog models but one of the plastic cups was broken before we ever put water in it. So we ddcided to put 2 aside to do later and just do 2 to start with. I put hot water in one of the nonbroken cups and it cracked as well. Fortunately, the Crack is straight enough that the water isn't leaking out much, I just put it in a mug to catch the water that leaked out. But now it means we are down to two cups so if another one cracks we will have to get inventive or just not do one of them.

Daughter loved them
I think as long as you follow the directions they should work just fine. I read the reviews and the ones where they didn't work I feel the directions weren't followed. The only thing is the active participation of the child on stirring the solution because of the high temperature of the water. As long as you know if your child can follow direction and you can have the jar in a pot in case of a spill it doesn't got on them to burn them I think it's a really cool gift. It's really about knowing what directions for child can follow.

Directions are missing information
This was a very cute product in the hedgehog packaging. I am a Geoscience student and I bought this to share with my 2 year old daughter as I am teaching her about crystals. I am from the US; so when the directions read: pour the powder into the cups, heat water to 100 degrees, pour water over powder, stir until completely dissolved, THATS EXACTLY WHAT I DID. Except I didn’t know until about 3 directions later that it was supposed to be 100 degrees Celsius and I had used Fahrenheit. Yes, one could argue that I could have read through all the directions before I began but with the toddler trying to help and having experience with these types of science products, I fully admit I didn’t. I relied on a company who specializes in SCIENCE products to write their instructions accurately. I can’t return this bc it’s already all mixed up, and 1 day past the return date. Oh well lesson learned.

5 year old loved this
My 5 year old loved this project. Not only did she enjoy checking on them 2-3 times a day and shining her flashlight on the cup to see how big the crystals had grown, but she’s also taken them to school and to other family members homes to show off the end result. They were popular among her friends as well. Good value for the price!
