I got the 10 micron version of this.The first thing i noticed is that this SS mesh filter is slightly longer than they say it is. To make matters worse, the top and bottom gaskets are thicker than normal but they do compress. A quick measurement reveals that the SS filter itself is just short of a 1/8" taller than any of the other filters I have been using over the years.Fortunately, the standard 10" x 4.5" filter canisters I use (3 canisters in series) still seal up properly, but it's tight. I can see where this wouldn't fit at all in many brands of filter canisters.Quality wise, this is nice. Well made and reusable. I especially like the 'reusable' part. Take it out, clean it and reinstall it. Good money saver.Worth it? I think so but this is not going to fit into a canister that has no 'wiggle room'. Be sure to consider that before ordering.

I ordered the filter for an automatic spray wash cabinet. I ordered the 4.5" diameter filter by mistake, I have a 2.5" housing. The filter is exactly 10" long from gasket to gasket. I see some have had trouble fitting it, I don't think it is designed to fit a housing that is made for the compressible yarn or poly filters, I think it's designed to fit the same brand stainless housings. It appears to be very good quality, I'm going to hang on to it until I can upgrade my filter housing to 4.5".

I thought this was going to be a great product, I almost ordered another on only with a different micron so I could filter in stages. I finally finished my plumbing project and went to change the filters but it is to tall and will not let the filter case seal. I also waited to long to return it so now I have a new $64.85 filter I can’t use.

This filter fits the whole house housing that I have immediately prior to my water softener with the provided silicone gasket material seals that came with the filter. Water flow rate is good and for me it is needed to prevent sediments from getting into the water softening system. This replaces my 25 micron wound filters that were costing me $20 plus every two months. The durability and expected life of the stainless steel mesh is a huge plus as it is easy to clean which makes the filter a high value for the money. The filter took less than 5 minutes to install.

It only fit if I removed the silicone seals on each end. After that, it was a good fit. It may have some debris leak by, but it's a sediment filter so not a big deal. I know it's a good fit because I measured the height against a regular filter using a height gauge. I also measured the height of the housing with the stainless filter installed. That is how I knew it was too tall, it wouldn't screw all the closed.

Cut back on chemicals this year with the Amwater Stainless Steel Filter Cartridge, and it’s been a game-changer! It’s super well-made, catches even tiny debris, and keeps my pool crystal clear. Absolutely would not fit in my filter housing with gaskets on both ends. I removed the gaskets and it fit. Needs to be 1/4" shorter. I'm still going to use it but frustrated the gaskets won't fit.
