Only one spring but we'll made and doesn't have a fixed depth base. Best I've used on my 54mm Sage/Breville machine.

£24 at time of review 51mmI have a coffee tamper that I’ve been using with my new coffee machine, but as my new machine had a slightly larger cup to my old one, it was annoying me that the tamper I had was slightly too small… this one is perfectly sized. It’s very nicely made, quite weighty in the hand too, but in a nice way, feels really solid. There’s no manual etc, but it’s not exactly rocket science to operate, to adjust the depth of the ram, turn it upside-down, apply pressure so the ram extrudes and screw it to tighten or loosen the desired amount, you can unscrew it entirely to clean out any coffee granules that accumulate.My wife bought me one for my birthday that cost almost three times what this cost, but we returned it as it had rust in it! This one is spotless, states it’s stainless steel and it certainly looks like it is, so I foresee this listing years.Hope my review was helpful

One thing about achieving a consistent tamp is knowing how much pressure to place on the puck of coffee ….. this high quality tamper takes care of all that for you , ensuring a consistent level of coffee within your portafilter. If you’re using pressurised baskets, there’s probably no need for this but if you take your coffee prep seriously then this item will achieve perfection every time. Highly recommended. 5 stars plus!!!!!
