Very Straightforward
I like things to be simple and straightforward, so didn't mind paying more for an OEM battery with all the connectors ready in position. As others mentioned, didn't need to turn unit off at all (my UPS powers two servers I was loathe to shut down). Simply remove the front panel, pull out the stoppers to release the inner cage panel, slide out the battery and slide in the new one job done. Takes 2 mins. The unit beeps and then starts charging the new battery. My servers never missed a beat in the whole operation.

Exactly as Advertised its APC
My APC replacement arrived within 2 days of ordering it which was fast, so thank you Amazon! And yes i was a little anxious that it would be 'disappointingly' returned the next day if it was a 'clone fake copy' as some of the older reviews are saying below ~ but it is a 100% genuine APC battery cartridge no 48 for my APC Smart UPS 750, it is exactly as advertised genuine APC not a copyvery pleased and would like to help dispel the 'its a fake clone copy' that the older reviewers post here, and maybe it was back then?but now in October 2015 it was a genuine APC replacement battery that arrived at my house yesterday,it was easy to replace old for new cartridge battery ~ take front cover off, remove the steel front plate easy to plastic clip plugs, slide out old battery (is heavy) slide in new battery push firmly a faint click as it contacts with terminal block at rear, replace steel front cover ~ affix front APC cover clicks into place ,, turn it on wait for the running checks to complete done! then let it charge for 6 hours and its ready to go

Not quite...
Battery is not APC original badged as per the image and thus misleading. The one I received was freshly made and delivered quickly.Had to re-program UPS manually to resolve the battery status problem.Hope it helps others, do at your own risk:APC Smart UPS 1400/1500-2200 - Program to optimal status procedure:1) Serial cable to UPS, NOT the USB cable2) Stop ALL APC PowerChute Services3) Connect to UPS (HyperTerminal)4) 2400 Baud; 8 bits; 1 stop bit; no parity; Xon/Xoff protocol5) Empty window --> PRESS [SHIFT+Y] --> console should now show "SM"6) SM Window --> PRESS [1] TWO times with a TWO second pause --> console should now show "PROG"7) PROG Window --> PRESS [0] This will report current UPS status (Optimal is 8C)8) PRESS and HOLD [-] key to program the UPS, cycle to "8C" [-], finally PRESS [+] key at "8C" (Long list!)9) 8C is final line showing in console --> PRESS [SHIFT+R] --> console should now show "BYE"You are finished, you have reset the hardware to report as optimal statusYou will hear clicking sounds from the UPS as you cycle through the list, this is normalYou may PRESS [SHIFT+Y] and [0] once again to verify the UPS status as "8C"This procedure fixes fresh battery from reporting "0m" runtime and a "discharged" status...Cheers

As expected
As expected and fairly straightforward to replace, allowing for the weight of the thing.

I need to replace within 12 months?
The media could not be loaded. I bought two... one in July and one in October 2022- price was comarable to third party so I thought I buy original this time. Both received in APC branded packaging (so much cardboard) and "looked" genuineToday I got the dreaded beeping sound on one of the UPS's with the message"Warnings State: Replace Battery"I thought I replaced them not that long ago...Checking the menu on each:SMT750IC : "Battery Install Date: Jul-2022" & "Replace Battery by: Jun-2025"SMT750I : "Battery Install Date: Oct-2022" & "Replace Battery by: Sep-2023" (see video showing the message)I don't understand how one of them can last 3 years, and another less than 12 months...

Genuine battery pack at a ripoff price.
After my battery on my APC Smart-UPS 750 died I went to their website and found the battery I needed. Clicking the buy link it took me to Amazon and the RBC #48 I needed. The battery I bought is a genuine APC and fit perfectly into my UPS. After an overnight charge and a Calibration the battery passed the self test and seems to be working perfectly. Why only 3 stars, you may ask. That's because the price is a complete rip-off. When I bought it it was £102 now, three days later, it is £125. After swapping out my dead battery I removed the APC sticker and found the OEM, volt & amp hour of the battery. A quick search found the exact battery for £15 each (the pack comes with two batteries stuck together). In fact the Amazon page gives alternative 12v 7Ah UPS batteries for about £18 that come with a 5 year warranty. Had I known at the time I would have bought two cheaper batteries and swapped over the APC cables. I can understand a bit of a markup but an extra £89 is a joke.
