Great value phono preamp
I bought this preamp as a first upgrade after buying a cheap USB turntable. I enjoyed buying and listening to vinyl when I was young and thought that I would give it another go. Having spent a year enjoying listening to my records but wishing the bass was fuller and the hum from the record player quieter I decided to upgrade. This preamp had decent reviews and suited my budget. It did not disappoint, I have paired it with a Project Primary E turntable and some Ruark Audio MR1 speakers and the improvement in sound quality is immense. The hum has all but disappeared and the sound is so full. It is compact and easy to use, and I can't imagine finding a much better product for the price. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to venture into the world of vinyl without breaking the bank.

Does the job - great value for money
Excellent little box. Connected between my Rega Planar 3 and a Bose Soundtouch. No problem with buzzing as the turntable is earthed through the arm so I didn't have to use the Phonobox's earth connection. The output is not very loud - I have to set the Bose on about 75-80% volume just for normal levels but quite satisfactory. Great value for money.

That it was simple to work and had good sound quality
This is a good product at reasonable price and easy to connect - the sound is excellent and works well with my old techniques turntable and Hi Fi .The only complaint is that the power source lead which has plug options is cheap and the adapting mechanism keeps coming away from the plug - in as it is too loose. I have had to stick it together with sellotape !

Turntable Pre-Amp by Project
Bought this item as I'd recently purchased a new hi-fi system (a very excellent Marantz M-CR610) and needed to hook-up my trusty turntable and get my record albums playing again. I Initially bought a less expensive model via Amazon and although it was highly rated in the reviews, when I connected it up and compared the sound to other streams of media that the Marantz can output, it sounded decidedly flat and lacking any punch. So I went back online, bought this little chap, connected it up, whilst still in possession of the original purchase, and compared it like for like and the Project unit was far more sharper and punchy with an overall greater clarity of sound. It was some £30 more expensive than the original item purchased, which I returned to Amazon no problem, but in the overall scheme of things well worth the extra money. It's quite a solid little unit, well made and has an earthing wire attachment, which was something I particularly wanted as I'd suffered from an irritating mains hum in the past and wanted to be sure to eradicate this going forward. All in all, quite pleased with this unit and if your requirements are the same as mine then I'd be more than happy to recommend it, along with the Marantz system mentioned above.

compact and solid
good performance at a competitive price .. Connected my 40 year old Pioneer deck with Shure cartridge to my brand new Cambridge Audio amplifier . Sound quality from my old vinyl albums is superb through this system .

Perfect pre amp!
This tiny little phono stage simply does the job it sets out to do. It’s easy to set up, unobtrusive and my records sound great. I use a turntable by the same manufacturer which may help but I would recommend this pre amp without reservation. Superb.

Very good strong sound quality at a reasonable price
I bought this to go with my new project primary turntable, excellent value for money . Prior to this I made do with a headphone amp with my old separates until I could afford a poor pet phono stage. It would sound good even on a decent hifi and has surpassed the limitations of my old Cambridge audio amp. For my needs and budget I may have been as well getting a turntable with built in phono but this is an inexpensive way to get a good quality sound from my records.

Five stars for the supplier.
I had to return this, not because there was anything wrong with it but because it was not matched to the equipment with which it was intended to work. I have to say that the supplier was particularly co-operative in letting me 'suck it and see' and raised no objections when I returned it. I was only sorry that I had inconvenienced him without providing him with a sale. Seems to be a good outfit.
