High quality, lightweight, attractive and optically excellent
I have been extremely nearsighted all of my 70 years, wearing "Coke bottle-bottom" glasses of minus 16 diopters which is a lot. Just had my eyes fixed for cataracts, in which they replace the eye's aging internal lens with a new implanted lens. And these days, they can embed correction into the new implants so I got minus 14 diopter implants to optimize performance at reading distance - it's like having internal contact lenses but no cleaning, no taking out and putting back in. This means my long-distance vision is a little blurry, so I need glasses for driving now. It occurred to me that the difference of 14 - 16 = minus two diopters might be low enough that I wouldn't need an eye exam and custom lenses, so I found these on Amazon and tried them. They work great. I ordered another pair at minus 1.5 diopters and that seems the sweet spot! $18 instead of an $85 exam plus $100 for the custom glasses! I'll probably go for an exam to check astigmatism once my eyes have settled, but I'm picking up a couple of spare sets of these treasures anyway because they work so well. FOLLOW-UP: I wore them to the California DMV for my drivers license vision re-test (they require that when you're older). I would have failed without them, but passed handily with them.

Well...well...
Let's see... I am so glad they make glasses like this for us distance seeing guys. Goi g to the eye doctor and then paying g for lens and frames is just too expensive. I walk out with glasses and 300 dollars lighter. These glasses do just the same job. Course they let you see fine at distance but they don't help if you have a stigmatism. Guess that's what only the doc can do. I do t have a bad one so I can see great with them. My prescription glasses I can see fine far away but have to take them off to see up close. With these glasses I can see up close with them on and that's nice. So all in all these glasses work great. Just make sure you get the right strength. They are light weight and for the most part sturdy. I'm rough on glasses and eventually lenses fall out. I don't bother gluing them back in since they are so cheap. I just put them in my glasses box and order another pair. One day when I'm bored ill sit down and glue all the lenses back in.

Goodbye contacts!
Work great for a nearsighted person, but needed two pair. One for driving and seeing long distances (-3.25), which matches my contact prescription and the other for working on the computer & reading (-1.75). Full power is not comfortable to wear for short range work and would make me dizzy. Reviews here helped me figure this out on 1st attempt by adding +1.5 to my prescription for the reading glasses.

Know whether you need them before you buy.
Several people gave these one-star reviews, saying "they're junk, I still can't see anything at a distance". Well of course not, these aren't distance glasses. You get those from an optician based on an eye exam. That's based on the poor product description: "Nearsighted Metal Myopia Glasses Everyday Use Mens Womens Distance Spectacles (NOT READING GLASSES)"They are in fact reading glasses, just not the magnifying kind you find at the drugstore that grandma hangs around her neck on a chain. These are negative diopter lenses, which allow nearsighted people to *read* at a greater distance than without them. I'm quite myopic, with -6.5 prescription lenses. With no glasses the computer screen is sharp only out to nine inches away; beyond that it starts to blur and at about 15 inches small print is too fuzzy to read at all. With these metal frame glasses at -3.5 diopter I can sit at a comfortable distance; the view is sharp out to 21 inches instead of nine.So if you aren't so nearsighted that you can't focus at a comfortable distance, these may not be for you.If you are, these are great. The lenses look accurate, with clear vision whatever part of the lens you're looking through, and the frames are lightweight and comfortable. The nosepads are adjustable, unlike the plastic frames with nose surfaces molded in place, and they arrived set in a comfortable position. The temples have a fixed hinge, so don't try to bend them outward like expensive (and fragile) expansion hinges. I haven't beaten them up, but they seem sturdy enough to survive a fall and secure enough that I don't worry about them falling off if I look down over a wall. For the price they can't be beat.

Amazing Eyeglasses for Nearsighted
Very well made glasses for Nearsighted individuals. Important to order your diopter (-0.50, -1.0 etc) and realize that there is no astigmatism correction. These ARE NOT FOR CLOSE VISION. Very well-made and a very good buy! No hard case included at this price. Would definitely buy again!
