Works as advertised.
I purchased this because I need to get some data off of a crashed server SAS drive. It worked fine.

Fails Every Test
When you get a device like this you might consider reading the manual and the pretense for a manual, a folded glossy about 2" by 3", has been unfolded in the photo. Aside from being in tiny print it has no really useful information, especially when the device fails, as mine did.Any USB device you connect to your Windows computer should, at least, show up in Device Manager when it is connected, even if it doesn't work because, when it doesn't work Windows will tell you. This adapter DID NOT show up as a new USB device and I tested it on two different computers running Windows 10 with BOTH the USB 3.0 and the USB-C connecters. (And, yes I had pushed the button to turn it on first.)When I put two different SAS drives in the adapter neither one showed up in Windows Disc Manager even though the drives seemed to spin.I asked for support suing the SUPPORT option but, after getting to a human when the robot was going to be of no help I still needed to be transferred to technical support which had no further suggestions except that I could either replace or return the item. Since I do not wish do deal with testing another Chinese manufacturing error I have decided to return this.

Used to to do a DOD full erase on a bunch of SAS Drives from an old server. Works perfectly!
Recommended for shop use.

Terrible thermal design
This dock was not at all designed well. The SAS to USB controller runs so hot that it stops serving IO after about 15 minutes of running and will not function again until it has been powered off for 5-10 minutes to cool. There is 0 cooling on the IC and it is placed next to the SAS port which is too close to the plastic shell to even add cooling to.The heat from the IC also appears to radiate to the docked disk as well. Disks are hot to the touch above where the IC is located. When working, it has very low throughput. I was capping out at 28MB/s.Finally, when I bought this dock it had 0 reviews. It conveniently now has 85 reviews, none of which appear to be related to the dock.

It works
Picked this up to upgrade from a fairly dated and slow enclosure. For me, the speed difference is extremely noticeable since I'm wiping drives with it.

External USB-C SAS/SATA Hard Disk Drive Reader
The media could not be loaded. This product is an adapter that lets you access an old-fashioned spinning platter-style SATA or SAS hard drive through a USB-C cable connection on a computer desktop or laptop. The drive adapter comes with a USB cable and a power adapter, everything you need to read a hard drive. I tested the Anyoyo SATA/SAS external enclosure reader with an Origin Neuron AMD Ryzen 9 79503dfx RTX 4090 running Windows 11 Professional 64 bit. The enclosure was seen immediately upon plugging in the USB-C cable. The transfer speeds were fast and reliable.I used both SAS and SATA drives. I have a huge collection of old SAS drives that still have important code I wrote many years ago stored on them. Every now and then, I need to break out the chest of SAS drives and recover some content from the decades past. This product has worked well with both SAS and SATA & SATA SSD.The transfer speeds were not always the fastest compared to some other brands of SAS adapters that I have used frequently in the past.I also tested the enclosure using the Linux Debian operating system, and it works great in that operating system, too.All the drives I used were under the 18TB maximum supported under this adapter.Overall, this is a good product for occasional use, but I recommend a more beefy solution if you are a power user and require lots of bandwidth transfer speeds.

It works with some SAS drives
It is only working on about 15% of the disks. The Cheetah disks don’t seem to work with it at all.

Piece of crap that doesn't work!
Not only is this a ridiculously flimsy contraption that is worth less than a dollar, the worst part is that it doesn't work. Most of the time, it will not recognize and mount the drives inserted in the bay. I've spent hours trying to get drives to mount, trying to figure out if there is a repeatable sequence that might work reliably, with absolutely no luck. This is a single piece of crap. It has one job to do—to connect a drive to a computer—and completely fails at it! Stay away!
