Cute and handy. This works well for simple shreds.

Huge hit in my school counseling office, the knob does fall off at least once a day but it’s not hard to put back on just a bit annoying.

Pleasantly surprised. Works great if used as suggested. A wee little thing, but useful without having to pull out the big guns (large shredder) for small shredding jobs (checks, couple sheets at a time,etc.). Would give five stars simply for design purposes. Would be nice if top locked in while turning knob/shredding.

I love this little shredder! I have a large electric shredder, but it's too much bother and too noisy to use regularly. I end up piling up things to be shredded until the pile gets so large I take to a shredding place. I keep this little shredder on my desk and I can quickly shred things as they come into the house. It has trouble with multiple sheets of paper, but shredding a single sheet is so quick and easy that it's no problem to feed the sheets in individually. It's very satisfying to turn the crank and see the shredded paper come through.

Technically, this works. It shreds paper. It's compact, and I kept its box for easy storage.If you only need it once in a while to shred a piece of mail, it's fine. If you're wanting to shred a whole box of old documents, though, do yourself a favor and get something more substantial.I have two main reasons for this recommendation:(1) The top of the device does not clip on or stay secure in any way. You will have to hold the lid down with one hand while using the other to crank the lever and shred your paper. It can be very easy to get a papercut this way, if you're not careful. This far-from-ergonomic design also makes it kind of... labor intensive? If you have a whole bunch of things to shred at once you're going to get tired fast.(2) It cannot handle more than one standard piece of paper at a time. You must fold your one piece of paper one time, longways, to fit it in.

I know this is cheap, but I thought it would be easier to use. The max that it can take is only 2 sheets which is not a problem. It is very hard to turn the handle which makes it difficult to shred. It has no grips on the bottom for feet so it slides everywhere. I really would not recommend this one.
