Not substantial
I purchased a coat on Amazon and it turned out the "brass" buttons were plastic. I order these and had all the old buttons taken off and the new buttons professionally seen in. They look great. Unfortunately getting out of a taxi the top of the button popped off of the shanked. I have only worn this coat once before. Very briefly, but since I am traveling someplace that is very cold. I really needed this to be more substantial. I'll have to look online to find brasd buttons that are welded to the shank because I can't have my buttons popping off for small routine movements such as getting out of a car. Also, be aware that these are not solid brass buttons. They are hollow so they make quite a bit of noise between the way the shank is inserted into the hollow button.
