Misery by King, Stephen (2011) Paperback

A riveting nail-biter and must read even if you have seen the film
Much darker and more gruesome than the film, Misery takes you on an author's terrifying journey when he becomes held prisoner by a deranged fan. King's narrative pulls you in from the word go and his characterisation is flawless. I think that what I admire most about King though is his ability to conceive such incredible ideas for stories.

Is it an exciting read?
Started off well, then certain chapters (or parts of chapters) became a bit of a drag. I skipped quite a few pages just to get back to the action. I only persevered because I was reading in French. My daughter is reading the English version and feels the same. Not the best book I've read.

Great product if it's what your after. Needs to be clearer with the fact that it's got French annotations.

The other reviews state that it is not clear that this is a French version - mine is in something like Dutch/Austrian/German - definitely not French - and that was not clear either!

French margin translations
Just bought this book for my son for Christmas. Be aware this version of the book is for French readers and has french translations in the margins and highlighted words in the script which is very distracting! I've looked at the description and this is only mentioned in the small details right at the bottom of the page! It should be made clearer to the purchaser. Beware.
