Highly recommend!
So I got this for Christmas and hooked it to the siren speaker I have already. It didn’t work. Contacted the company directly and they sent a replacement. The replacement didn’t work. So they deduced that my siren speaker was the right impedance for the horn. So they sent me a brand new one of theirs. It worked! I asked if I owed for the speaker they said no. So I have to say even though it wasn’t in the description that I needed an 8 ohm impedance speaker they made it better by helping me figure it out and providing me a speaker for the trouble. I do recommend. When I tested the system it was loud and made me jump standing next to it lol. So yeah it is loud lol.

Hope this updated electronics horn box lasts longer than the original did!
Owned the original style with the built in horn relay (yellow wire). That burnt out after about 15 months. This newer model deleted the internal relay, necessitating an external relay. So far, unit is working, but time will tell. Was the internal relay removed as a cost cutting measure or was it removed because it was failing??

Faulty unit?
Got it to randomly work a couple times, but after a lot of wasted time, using various batteries and testing with whelen sa315 speakers and some 8ohm Motorola and Harris speakers, this unit only manages to produce a very brief clicking noise upon power up.Very disappointed.

Read Before Purchasing - Tech Details Included
Had the manufacturer not advertised this unit at 100 Watts of power, and 115 db, I would have given it probably 3 Stars for the horn. However, when we buy things based on the stated tech data, and they don't perform to that level, that's a different story.I grew up on Federal lights, sirens, and Motorola radios. Fire department at 18, paramedic by 20, and turned 21 in the police academy. So I can attest that this is not the quality or power of the horns on the fire engines, ambulances and police cars as I have driven them all. So I'll say that it's an okay truck horn. The manufacturer states that these units put out 100 Watts of power. I have tested 6 of these, and no, none of them put our anywhere near 100 Watts of power. Also, note that these units are made to be used with 8 Ohm speakers. Professional siren speakers are 11 Ohms. If you try to use an 11 Ohm professional speaker, we could only measure about 1/3 of that 100 Watts. Also, no matter what speakers we used, we never got better than about 113 decibels. You may say, well that's only 2 decibels less than the 115 they state, but understand that decibels are exponential, and 3 db doubles the power. That means that 116 db would be twice as loud at 113 db, so 2 db is a lot.We had high hopes for these to be used on a state wide fleet project. Unfortunately, they just don't measure up to the claims.

Exactly what you think it is
sounds just like the ones the cops use, great for getting other drivers on the road to actually pay attention or toss their cell phone in the back seat and stop texting.
