Yes, these earrings for men are made of surgical stainless steel, hypoallergenic, durable and comfortable to wear.

Q: What gauge are these earrings ?

These mens earrings are in different sizes, hoop earrings 18G(1.0mm), stud earrings 20G(0.8mm).

Q: Is it okay to use these as earrings for my first earrings to get pierced with ?

I personally would say NO! I love these earrings and wear them daily but I would not recommend getting your ears pierced with these. You should get your ears pierced with some surgical stainless steal earrings because those would be less likely to cause an allergic reaction. But once you’ve had your ears pierced for a couple weeks I would suggest waiting a little longer because these earrings are somewhat heavy in my opinion and would be quite uncomfortable for a beginner.

Q: Can these go in water??

Oh yes, certainly. Just as with any jewelry though just be sure to wash it off when it isn't normal water like if you go to the ocean or murkey nasty water or domething so it doesn't get degraded by salt or have anything slide up in the cracks and cause the clasps/hinges to become gunky, etc.
