Q: Is the front panel soft, or is it stiff?

The all white hat purchased about 6 weeks ago (New Era 9Twenty) with perforated rear panels has slightly stiff two front panels. They can be compressed downward. Yesterday a friend gave me an all blue New Era 9Forty with a patch on the side labeled "post season 2019" and the front panels are very stiff, probably not compressible without damaging the stiffener. The slightly stiff white hat shows dents where it has been partially compressed by accident. Finally I have an old Astros hat with the colors in the illustrations reversed that seems ancient. It was made by "47" brand with no front panel stiffener. If you like stiff front panels, those in my perforated white 9Twenty will not hold up for long. To me, they all look fine, even the soft blue and orange hat.
