Better alternative to flimsy plastic type.
Bought the 3m length for a cooker hood to external vent. Only needed 1m but used the 3m length which kept it more ridged. Easy to cut and install. If you stretch it to it’s 3m length it will not be as ridged and will be more flexible but weaker. I replaced a plastic concertina like duct which had totally disintegrated due to the constant heat and steam. This one is a lot stronger structurally than the last plastic one and should deal better with the heat. I would definitely recommend this item so far.

Ideal for air con extension for venting
Used to extend the exit hot air pipe from a air con unit. Worked perfectly, and extends to about 12 foot ++ with two of you pulling it out from either end. Allowed us to use air conditioning unit in lounge and put the exit exhaust out of the kitchen window (just got air basically) which prevents it getting hot in the kitchen which would have preijust come back into the lounge. Now not using, so carefully condensed it back up to storage length of about 3foot.Downside is only that it can be crushed easily when extended and ends of pipe can be a bit sharp, so watch your fingers. Much cheaper option than the white extensions and only expand to about 5,feet. Happy to endorse.

Quality product
Used for Hob Extraction unit. Holds it's shape and has smooth inside surface , so air flow is unrestricted and quiet. Excellent product.

Correct size
Works well when used with a cooker hood that has a 150mm outlet.

VERY flimsy when extended. If not used before, please read this first.
If you have never worked with this "semi-rigid" aluminium ducting, PLEASE read this first. It is so fragile when anywhere near fully extended that the makers' claim that it's the "Perfect compromise between the strength of rigid duct and the versatility of flexible duct" is seriously misleading. The point to understand is that this hose consists of compressed aluminium foil with NO INTERNAL SPRING WIRE SPIRAL TO SUPPORT IT. When fully compressed as delivered it seems very strong, but once you start to extend it the problems become apparent. When extended the corrugations that give it strength are pulled apart, becoming weaker the further it is extended. The aluminium foil is so thin that it's impossible not to dent it just by gripping it to extend it. By the time it's extended to anywhere near the claimed 3 metre expansion the corrugations have so flattened out that it has almost no strength. It becomes just a long long cylinder of thin aluminium foil without any reinforcing wire to keep its shape. The foil is so thin that it's absurdly fragile. The slightest touch will dent it and even light accidental contact can easily almost flatten it.IMO the absence of any internal spring wire reinforcement to hold its shape makes this hose impracticable for any length greater than about three times its compressed size on delivery.I have consigned this aluminium hose to the recycling bin and replaced it with a conventional, wire reinforced flexible PVC ducting.

Mixed Bag!
I bought two of these, one fell apart and the winding came undone as others have mentioned. I have used this type of ducting before but this is on the cheaper side.As an FYI to anybody else in the same situation I have cut the bad section out and secured the open end of it to the extractor, hopefully it will last.Would I recommend, no, I'd look for alternatives.

Made a mistake on diameter.
Diameter just too small, literally buy five millameter, so had to send it back and ask for a refund. So the old adage goes "MEASURE ONE'S, MEASURE TWICE ORDER ONCE " but I did do it !?, but it was just slightly too small when you in cloud sealing agent as well. So had to reorder the larger size ducting. If you're going to use it as a part of the kitchen decor, it won't look out of place, just make sure that you don't crease it or dent it, it will lessen the appearance of the installation and it marks and dents easily. Dislikes None it's a bendy ducting pipe.
