We like this EV car charger. We have leased EV's for over 9 years and owned one for over a year now. We needed to purchase a charger as our final leased vehicle was going to be turned in and we had one that came with that leased vehicle. We like to slow charge or drip charge, since it is best on the battery to charge in this manner. We often have the time and ability to charge in this way. It is an easy charger to use and works perfectly! Since we have 2 EV's, we may be purchasing a 2nd one soon and will consider making this same purchase. The only thing I would want different is a slightly longer cord but we are able to make this one work just fine!

Worked well but I upgraded to a level 2 charger.

Electrical Engineer here... This is not my everyday unit, but is great as one of my medium capacity portable chargers. It's extremely lightweight and the rubberized cord is easily flexible in very cold weather, unlike other chargers. There are no settings on the device, and it will just supply 16A at either voltage, so be certain it's on a 20A circuit (120v Level 1 or 240v Level 2). Just plug it into a NEMA 6-20 outlet and it will output ~3.6kW for basic Level 2 charging. Not bad for a portable unit. If you attach the included NEMA 5-15 adapter you'll get ~1.8kW for basic Level 1 trickle charging. Just make sure if you use the 5-15 adapter, that the circuit and wiring is rated for 20A, since it's actually pulling 16 amps. Since there are no settings on the charger, the 16A will overload a 15 amp circuit or extension cord. This could be dangerous if you are not careful. Note: NEC does not permit continuous load to exceed 80% of the nameplate rating. IE: 16A is the max allowable on a 20A circuit.

I use this to keep my Mustang Mach-e from cold soaking in the Alaskan interior. I leave the car plugged in on the 120 volt adapter for 8hours/day while I’m at work, parked outside, in temps down to -45°F. Fortunately in Fairbanks most employee parking lots are already set up for ICE cars to plug in their block heaters, so the infrastructure is there. Not only does it keep the car from dying, it actually charges it up too.The range still suffers from the cold, but no charger can fix that.
