Perfect for our Golden Retriever
Recommended by our vet to get a ramp to reduce the risk of joint damage, we bought this after a lot of research, much head scratching and finally a personal glowing recommendation from a friend. We are not disappointed. It is not light ( none of these ramps are) but is still easy enough to carry. Setting up is simplicity itself as is packing away. Access to all parts of the ramp allows stress free cleaning if it ends up muddy....can but dream of a clean retriever! Our dog took to it very quickly, tempted by her favourite treat to go up and come down. The surface is non slip to help with those over excited doggo moments. The ramp sits happily on the car boot surround and doesn’t move. Not cheap but build quality appears good and we think it will be worth every penny if it helps avoid some of the issues that goldies are susceptible to.

Sturdy, compact when folded and grippy whilst being long enough for a large car suv.
The ramp arrived quickly, we waited 1 day. It is sturdy and has a non slip surface like sandpaper which gives good grip. However it is heavier than we expected but is manageable. BE WARNED it slides out quickly and could cause damage to your car and YOU ( I cut my finger on this ramp) . We use it for our 38 kg Labrador who found his previous plastic ramp flimsy and slippery. We recommend for all cars it is long enough for our X5 as well as being compact enough when folded to fit into the boot of our 1 series BMW. It is advisable to tie down the ramp with ropes or bungees when in the car so it doesn’t fly around. we think it is durable and worth the money if you are looking for a ramp for large dogs (especially older dogs) who can’t jump into high up cars and are too heavy to be lifted.

Works well, shame about the latch
Got this for an ageing mastif/boxer cross. Followed advice to get him to walk over when placed on the floor and then when placed up some stairs. After coaxing with treats he is happy and confident using the secure ramp. As others have mentioned, the latch/securing strap is made out of brittle plastic and despite good care, broke very quickly. This is annoying but will keep it as it works so well and retracts to a nice compact size, it’s not too heavy either. Would I recommend it? -yes but is a shame about the stupid, brittle latch strap.

Sturdy, easy to use, right length, right width.
This is the exact right product. My German shepherd is perfectly happy to use it so obviously feels safe and secure. The ramp is long enough to make the incline shallow enough to easily walk up and the surface has a good traction so my dog does not slip and she feels safe. Follow the tips in the leaflet and you can train your dog to safely use this very quickly. Don’t delay. - get this for your canine friend and save their joints!

Disappointing
Bought in May '24. The catch that holds it together to stop it sliding open broke off after a couple of months - it was pretty small and not easy to use though. We decided to put up with that as the Return window closed June '24. The actual ramp was great for our two 30kg labradors. Long enough so the angle wasn't too steep and the surface is easy for them to walk on - no slipping. The handle broke away i.e. the bolts sheared off last week after having it for five months, badly scraping my hand. As the ramp "wasn't cheap" I tried to contact the seller via "report an issue" window on the main selling page as there seemed to be no other way to contact them. After a week, haven't heard anything so the matter is not resolved and we have a ramp that slides open easily and you have to be careful to not cut your hands on the long metal edges (this observation was on previous reviews), made more tricky by not having a working carry handle.

Great piece of kit
This is a fantastic ramp for my large dog . Finish and texture are fine with good grip for the dog .....the only down side , which is why i gave it 4 and not 5 stars is ...the pop rivets that keep the handle on are too weak and snap off too easily ....i have had to replace 2 already with a small nut and bolt . ( this happened on the last ramp to )

Sturdy dog ramp
Used for my dog after ACL surgery. Bit of hesitation at first, but then no problem. Tried a cheaper plastic version from pet shop, but it had some give in it when being walked on and this scared the dog. This is solid when being walked on. Good non slip tread aswell. Once you get used to putting it up it's fairly straightforward, although I always feel I could nip my fingers when sliding it together. so I just take my time with it. As long as the dog uses it, which she does, then it's worth the cost. Could do with a better carrying handle.( My dog weighs 20kg.) I hope this helps if you're minded to purchase.

Perfect for our Golden Retreiver.
Very pleased with this ramp which we wanted for our Golden Retriever to help him into our BMW X3 without having to physically lift him. The ramp is in 3 equal parts which slide open telescopically and slide back into place easily. The ramp is strong and yet light. When slid back it is held in place with a good catch and there is a carry handle. Our dog took to it on the 3rd attempt. We got him to walk on it on a flat surface then we raised it a foot and got him to walk it with a treat and on the lead, then we moved it to the boot of the car and he walked on it with a treat as a reward and on the lead to guide him. This is not the cheapest ramp on the market but is very well made and in this case you certainly get what you pay for. Excellent product. Recommended.
