I had read several reviews of this product and most were positive. The one criticism was in fitting the safe to a secure position. I had no such difficulties and was able to secure the safe in the chosen place with ease. The safe interior is very spacious. For example, it will hold two laptop computers, a large bridge camera, a video camera, a sat nav (in a large case with all its fittings) and several other smaller items. The security method of up to eight digits is easy to program and use. We also have the security of a mechanical key in case of battery failure. All in all, we are pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone should wants a roomy, secure home storage facility

17 inch laptop can fit just if you twist it so that one side touches the bottom left and the other side at the hinge slides through the gap. Ample room once you get it past the door. If just a little bit more thought had gone into the design and an additional 10mm and it would have been perfect without making it any bigger.The 17inch laptop is 42cm wide and 32mm high.However this is not the reason for purchase. The primary reason is to store my work laptop and paperwork. The work laptop is 38cm so fits nicely through the door.Bit fiddly to setup the key codes initially. Once setup easy to unlock and lock.The door fits snuggly and there is very little gap around the door. Bolts and hinge look substantial. Steel is about 4mm thick.This is a safe... it does not provide any fire or water protection...

Arrived earlier than stated and well packed. After reading instructions decided to fix it back to wall and down to floor, easy to set up the password and it worked first time. I gave it 5 stars for a good delivery, looks, ease of fixing and setting up. The safe is ideal for A4 documents and folders and all your smaller personal belongings which you wish to lock away.It is perfect for home use but is not fireproof or waterproof. I think it is a great piece of kit and recommend you to buy it.

Having purchased this item and seeing confused questions about the measurements, I decided I will put this right. The Yale YSB/250/EB1 Premium Home Safe measurements in the description looks to measure the door space as the internal space.The measurement shown in the product description is the internal space, and the figures are correct for the internal dimension. The indication that looks like the door space is the internal dimensions is the misleading part. The door space is 17.5 cm by 28.5 cm, or 175mm by 285mm. In short, the internal dimensions are larger than the door opening.The keys provided are proper strong security keys which is expected being that it is insurance approved, and the instructions are easy to follow so that you can set your own keypad code. The product itself is sturdy and strong. Looks to be of excellent quality and should last many years. Fixings are provided to fix to the wall or to the floor whichever is required, and the fixings are of good quality too.

Came quickly in brown cardboard outer box. I found it intuitive to set up - far easier than I feared after reading other reviews. Comes with 2 override keys which I will store off site giving me reassurance if my memory fails me... Fittings supplied were adequate but NOT of a superior quality. In conjunction with a serious hammer drill and suitable concrete floor they did the job - but I did use all 4 bolts. If I could only use 2 or 3 fittings, I would suggest buying separate better quality expanding fittings. Clearly not "fire safe" or "water resistant" - you get what you pay for. Suitable for prevention of opportunistic thefts - any determined individual could "disc" or drill into it - but again - you get what you pay for. Only slight negative - beware that you may need to tighten the safety screw that stops the door coming of its hinges. I managed to save denting the door as it fell off whilst I was handling the safe - but only at cost of a bruised foot. This was my fault, not the safe. Overall I think this is a good product as long as you do not expect too much.

I really like thisI wanted something to keep my laptop in when I'm away or out and this really fits the bill for meIt easily keeps my laptop, iPad and other items with space left over and it's easy to useKeep in mind it's not a bank vault but for laptops and similar items this is perfect for storing them inThe instructions are a bit confusing for the initial setup but the information is there just follow it and its easy once its doneAlso comes with 2 over ride keys in case you forget 4 digits :DGreat quality from Yale as usual and I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a laptop safe
