Be sure before you buy.
This unit is nice, but really only good for continuously supervised use and short term.In the case of warming water for animals, it is only for short supervised uses.Unfortunately it is not what I am expected and won't work for my intended use.

Unit preforms as advertised!
This heater works as well as described. It gets hot fast, and when used as prescribed it is safeA side note- 2000 watts is a lot of electrical power for most 110v plugs. Don't use an extension cord if you can help it- and if you DO, make sue it's a heavy gauge cord - like 12 or 10 gauge, and make sure you are plugging into a 15amp or higher receptacle. It takes a lot of power for ANY 2000 watt heater to work- be smart and safe

Be Patient
The media could not be loaded. Loved the idea of this water heater. If I would have got it for free, maybe I could be a little more positive, like some of the other reviews. You have to be EXTREMELY patient for the water to get hot or at least warmer. See the time reference photo. This is actually more for heating up a bucket of water, not a bathtub full of water. The cord is very short, about 3-4 feet, so I needed an extension cord. I used an outdoor rated cord with surge protector. It popped the circuit twice, so I asked for a return.

Effective temporary fix for heating water for bath
We were converting our hot water system from gas, to electric. This was not an easy process, and took us several weeks to complete, which left us without hot water temporarily in our bathroom. I couldn't very well just let my 7 year old run around covered in dirt until we finished the conversion. So I got this immersive water heater for the bathtub. It worked great. It took over an hour to heat the tub, but that wasn't an issue considering without it, my son would have had to go to someone else's house to get clean. The process is very straightforward. You simply place the heater in the water, and then plug it in. Once the water is to the desired temp, you unplug the heater. There is even a digital thermometer that comes with it to help with attaining the desired temperature of the water. This is a very helpful product that I would definitely use again, if I needed to.
