Continuous Provision: The Skills: Enhancing children's development through skills-based learning (Practitioners' Guides) Paperback – 23 April 2015

A must for all Early Years settings. We have been inspired by Alistair and find the skills book very useful in helping to make our continuous provision more robust and linked to the needs of our cohort.

This book is fabulous. Another easy to read book from Alistair Bryce-Clegg.As I have completed my NQT year in year 1, and will move to another year 1 class, I will be pulling a lot of EYFS provision through and bridging that gap between skills and independent learning and adult taught curriculum.My training was predominantly in the EYFS so this book consolidates and enhances my understanding of high quality continuous provision.

Delivered and read in one day.Like all of Alistair's books this one is both easy to read and offers so many exciting ideas to help with your practice.No setting should be without it.

Some repeated/reiterated bits from earlier publications, though I know this is almost inevitable with ABC books in this series and when on this topic.Also, rather repetitious photos, in that many seem to be the same class on the same day. Would have been lovely to see a few " quirkier" settings-less "perfect"(lavish?) resourcing and equipping and more hand-me-down and make do and improvise-such as many of us have in our Early Year settings.This would have been really interesting and would've better illustrated ABC's desire for "less bland" interiors too.

Fabulous book! Very descriptive with great examples. Really helped me to plan my continous provision and will I'm sure be my best friend throughout my nqt year.

I love this book. I took moved to teaching a Reception class this year for the first time and this book has been invaluable.
