I already own an Army Painter wet palette, so was already aware of the quality of the product, although my original one is the smaller version of thisWhich brings us straight to brass tacks. What does this do and why? This palette comes with two functions, the first being what is probably the most important part; the wet palette itself. It allows for paints to mixed to a desired colour and then stop them drying out if you're working with them for hours or across days. It can be a little tricky at first to ensure that the sponge has enough water in it to work properly without it being over wet, but that comes with practice, as does knowing when to top up the levels of moisture. Once it is set right and kept that way it does an excellent job at keeping paints wet, allowing for consistent colours to be used when painting multiple figures in a unit, for exampleThe other part of this which doesn't come with the smaller unit is the tray with the more traditional separated mixing dimples. Although paints put in each cup require water to be added to keep them wet as time goes by (unlike the wet palette) the separate cups allow for colours to not run into each other, which can be an issue with the wet palette until you're more used to using it. In addition the cups allow for more separate colours to be in play at the same time than the wet palette would allowUltimately this is a top quality product. It does what it needs to do and does it extremely well. It makes painting batches of wargaming miniatures (such as squads, etc) considerably easier, allowing for a consistent result in terms of making sure that colours match across units and definitely one of those purchased I'd recommend for anybody painting on that scale, or working on a larger piece that could take days to complete

I strongly recommend this product for anyone who paints war game figure that require a wide variety of colours and mixtures.I have also found this incredibly useful when I have attended game nights with friends but have opted to paint some of my figures, rather than play. The design allows me to transport a wide variety of brushes in the lower portion, as well as a selection of wet palettes.The strong elastic band provided keeps the pallet well held together leaving no chance of opening.I have used the wet palettes before, but have I have not had a tray in which to use them. The Army Painters Palette has clearly been designed by war gamers for war gamers, packing in lots of features that you don’t realise bothered you until they are no longer an issue.Cleaning: I was worried that because of the palette being plastic, that my acrylic paints would stain or bond permanently to it. Although I would not recommend leaving your paint on the palette for more than a few hours, with some warm water and a microfibre cloth my paint wiped/pealed right off (almost like a non stick pan).Replacement palettes: I was pleasantly surprised that the number of wet palettes provided in this set is quite considerable. I only find myself using half a palette as it is so I have cut a few of them down. They are definitely a spark of innovation that has made my hobby painting, far easier.

This is twice the the size of our current wet palette and comes with the additional section of paint wells and brush holders. The wet sponge is noticably softer than our old one.My boy finds the white paint well a bit of a nuisance and he set it aside. As a result we noticed that the lid doesn't fit on the bottom part very well. A better design might have been if we could fit the lid on either part and not be forced to replace the white section each time.That being said, my son left paint in the wet part without the paint well inserted and it was still wet after a week. It is now two weeks later and the paint is dry-ish but still messy and smearable. To my mind that makes this an excellent item.The included paint guide gives useful overviews of a few aspect of model painting such as base coats, washes and dry brushing. If it didn't have "FREE Please take a copy!" I call it a generous extra.Overall, we are very happy with this.

I am not a 'gamer', rather I work with acrylics on wooden objects, from carved figures to larger items such as lighthouses, bowls, platters, spinning tops and other shapes and sizes, decorated in all sorts of colours.To date I have used simple white mixing trays with a dozen or so 'hollows' in which I put my paint, and then used others to blend them to get a desired shade.This 'kit', with its ability to keep the paint workable for longer periods, and especially if you need to have a break for some reason mid paint, is truly inspired. I must admit that it took me a while to get used to getting the moisture level right, and this is still 'work in progress' to some extent, but I am getting there.I particularly like the idea that it all folds up and is easy to store and/or take to another work station with very little effort. This product has obviously had a great deal of thought put into it. Yes, it has a hefty price tag (£35 when tested), but for what you get, and the potential saving on material costs, I think it does represent value for money if you look at the long term use.

Enorme palette humide, très pratique pour conserver les peintures plusieurs jours, mais surtout, l'ajout des puits permet d'utiliser au mieux les speedpaint sans se prendre la tete. Le compartiment à pinceaux reste utile pour permettre d'avoir tout dans la meme boite. Très content de mon achat.

Ich war sehr aufgeregt, dass ich die Gelegenheit hatte, die Wargamers Edition Wet Palette testen und reviewen zu können.Ich bin nun circa seit einem halben Jahr im Hobby. Das Prinzip der Wet Palette habe ich schon früh kennengelernt und gern genutzt. Zum Start des Hobbys habe ich allerdings auf die DIY Lösungen Brotbox, Küchenpapier und Backpapier gesetzt. Das hat auch bisher prima funktioniert, war jedoch immer ein wenig unkomfortable mit dem Material. Gerade die klassischen Probleme wie verlaufene Farben, schimmelndes Backpapier oder Kondenzfeuchtigkeit in der Box hatte ich alle durch.Da ich mit meiner "Billig"-Lösung bisher zufrieden war, war ich bei den kaufbaren Wet Palettes eher skeptisch. Umso interessierter war ich, ohne Investment zu schauen, was so eine Premium Wet Palette eigentlich bietet.Zunächst der Fluff: Man bekommt in der Box ein paar Guides mit der impliziten Werbung für die Produktfamilien von The Army Painter. Über die Werbung kann ich hinwegsehen, denn für Anfänger sind die Guides sinnvoll und hilfreich, selbst wenn man sein Zubehör bei der Konkurrenz erwirbt. Die Palette selber ist sehr schick und wertig verarbeitet. Das Zugband mit dem Firmenlogo finde ich sehr stabil. Zusätzlich zur Palette bekommt man noch zwei sogenannte Hydro Foams und 50 Blatt zugeschnittenes Papier.Und nun zum praktischen Mehrwert: der Hydrofoam und die Blätter sind nicht nur ein nettes Goodie, sondern ein Kernfeature. Der Foam hält das Wasser, um die Papierauflage zu befeuchten. Dabei ist er sehr flach und sehr gut auf die Palette zugeschnitten, sodass die Feuchtigkeit optimal gehalten und abgegeben werden kann, ohne viele Falten zu werfen. Zusätzlich ist dieser Schwamm wiederverwendbar und wirkt wertig. Das Papier selbst ist (wie der Schwamm auch) so behandelt, dass Schimmelbildung verhindert wird. Der Vorteil daran ist, dass man die Palette auch außerhalb des Kühlschranks stehen lassen kann, ohne, dass sich Schimmel bildet. So wird auch die Kondenzwasserbildung im Kühlschrank verhindert, die Farben auf der Palette überwässert. Sehr praktisch.Ein besonderes Feature der Wargamers Edition ist das weiße Plastikinlay. Hier wurde schon von vielen Leuten bemerkt, dass ein Inlay aus Silikon als Farbpalette besser geeignet wäre, da sich diese leichter reinigen lassen. Ich bin mit dem Plastikinlay jedoch zufrieden, denn es gibt der Palette im zusammengebauten Zustand Stabilität. Ein sehr netter Bonus sind die zwei Orga-Fächer am rechten Rand des Inlays, denn diese sind groß und simpel genug gehalten, um fast jede Art und Form von Pinsel oder sonstigem Material zu beinhalten. Der Vorgänger war hier viel restriktiver.Fazit: Ich war bisher kein The Army Painter Fan und diesem Hobby-Luxus gegenüber skeptisch. Ich bin mir immer noch nicht sicher, ob man ganz objektiv sagen kann, dass die Palette ihren Preis für jeden Menschen wert ist. Mich hat diese Palette jedoch überzeugt, nicht mehr die Nase zu rümpfen und genauer hinzusehen. Mir hilft die Palette enorm meinen Arbeitsplatz zu organisieren, da sie Nass- und Trockenpalette kombiniert und extra Fächer für Pinsel o.ä. enthält. Falls ich im Local Gamestore um die Ecke malen möchte, kann ich die Palette auch super einfach einpacken und mitnehmen. Der Hydrofoam und das Papier dazu sind hygienisch wertiger als die DIY Lösung.Mich hat The Army Painter hier mit Luxus an den richtigen Stellen wirklich abgeholt. Ich hätte mir die Palette selbst nicht gekauft und muss es nun nicht mehr. Aber ich kann nun ruhigen Gewissens eine zweite Palette kaufen und an einen guten Freund verschenken.Brauchen tut man diese Palette nicht, aber sie ist (aus meiner persönlichen Sicht) wirklich angenehm und komfortabel. Ich genieße das Produkt und darum geht es beim Hobby schließlich auch.

Als totaler Neuling bzgl. Warhammer bzw. allgemein Miniaturbemalung hab ich mich dann doch über diese Nasspalette gefreut.Aber wozu sind sie eigentlich gut?Kurz zusammengefasst:Sie hält die Farben länger frisch, damit die benutzten Farben auch ein paar Stunden später weiterverwendet werden können und sie nicht austrocknen.Dafür wird einer der beiden Hydro-Schwämme in den Behälter gelegt, schön nass gemacht und auf diesen Schwamm kommt einer der 50 beigelegten Papiere rauf, auf welcher dann die Farbe getropft werden kann.Durch das etwas durchlässige Papier kommt dann die Feuchtigkeit des Schwammes durch und hält so die Farbe länger flüssig.Jetzt zum eigentlichen Produkt:Die eigentlichen Maße der Nasspalette sind 27.5cm x 20cm x 4cm zusammengebaut.Diese lässt sich in 3 Teile auseinandernehmen.Einmal die eigentliche Nasspalette welche dann für die Farben benutzt wird und einer Farbpalette für die dünnflüssigeren Farben (bzw. die Speedpaint Farben von Army Painter), welche 30 kleine Töpfchen besitzt plus noch etwas Platz an der Seite um Pinsel oder weiteres Zubehör zu verstauen.Wenn alles zusammengebaut wird, dürfte die Farbe auf der Nasspalette sogar etwas länger nutzbar sein, aber Feuchtigkeit wird nicht komplett zurückgehalten.Beigelegt ist auch ein schönes elastisches rotes Band um das alles zusammeh zu halten.Für Leute die neu beim bemalen von Miniaturen sind und sich noch nicht sicher sind ob es wirklich ihr Hobby ist, würde ich erstmal abraten sich diese Nasspalette zu kaufen da es doch etwas teuer erscheint.Für alle anderen allerdings kann ich diese wirklich große Palette nur wärmstens empfehlen.Jede Menge Platz für viele Farben und ebenso Platz zum mischen.

Ich durfte de Malpalette kostenfrei testen und habe sie für meinen Mann bestellt, der schon die normalgroße Palette immer genutzt hatte.Ich dachte ich schenke sie ihm zu Weihnachten. „ Mimimi.. die ist ja viel zu groß… mimimi… wo soll ich die noch hinstellen… Mimimi.. die oberen Näpfchen brauch ich bei meiner Bemaltechnik nicht..“Aber toll findet er sie trotzdem. Er hat sogar extra seinen bemaltisch umgeräumt, weil er festgestellt hat, dass eine größere Fläche bedeutet, er kann mehr Farben gleichzeitig verarbeiten. Tatsächlich nutzt er keine Farbe direkt aus dem Töpfchen mehr, sondern die müssen alle den Umweg über die Wetpalett gehen, weil die Konsistenz besser wird. ( außer die Strukturpasten)Beim Fotografieren hab ich gesehen, dass sie Farben auf der Wetpalette noch feucht sind, obwohl sie neben der Heizung stehen und mein Mann seit zwei Tagen nicht mehr bemalt hat. Und das ohne das Gummi. Das ist top.Punktabzug in der B- Note: der Schwamm war viel zu groß und musste zurechtgeschnitten werden, damit er flach in die Palette passt. Für das Geld darf ich erwarten, dass ich nicht noch selbst Hand dran anlegen muss.

Diese Palette ist wirklich ein Gamechanger für meine Fantasy-Tabletop-Miniaturen.Die 50 Hydro-Blätter sind so praktisch! Sie halten die Farben feucht und einsatzbereit, selbst wenn ich stundenlang an meinen Projekten arbeite. Die beigefügten Hydro-Schäume sorgen für die perfekte Konsistenz der Farben und halten sie genau da, wo sie sein sollen.Das Beste daran ist die kostenlose Malanleitung! Als jemand, der noch dabei ist, seine Fähigkeiten zu verbessern, ist diese Anleitung eine echte Bereicherung. Sie hat mir geholfen, neue Techniken zu lernen und meine Miniaturen zum Leben zu erwecken.Insgesamt bin ich begeistert von der Wargamers Edition Wet Palette. Sie hat das Malen meiner Miniaturen nicht nur erleichtert, sondern auch aufgewertet. Ein absolutes Muss für alle, die ihre Tabletop-Miniaturen mit Liebe und Detailgenauigkeit gestalten wollen!
