Good wooden cutlery
Exactly what it says on the box... This set of wooden cutlery gives you 50 knives, forks and spoons that you can use and throw away without having any guilt over filling the world up with yet more plastic. The items themselves are well-enough made and definitely serviceable for the one of two meals that they're intended to last for. I have a few sets stashed in the car for picnics and a few in my bag for those times that I forget to pick up a set from the shop where I buy my food.Price-wise... I guess that depends on your point of view. Many shops give out similar quality sets for free when you purchase food, and it's often possible to acquire a few spare sets along the way. In that light, paying for these seems a bit expensive. On the other hand, there's enough cutlery in this box to last a fair while and spread across that many meals, this doesn't seem like bad value.

- design and finish is good. The surface and edges are smooth without any snags
We do a lot of semi-formal picnics at sporting events during the spring and summer which means I am always in the market for disposable plates, bowls, glasses and cutlery - so was pleased to be trying out this set. For me, to be useful, they have to be strong enough not to crack in use and look reasonably smart. We tried these out and the weekend and found- design and finish is good. The surface and edges are smooth without any snags- none cracked in use - which makes these way better than the disposable plastic ones- we thought they looked goodFor 50 people these work out at just under 15p a setting, which I also rate as reasonable value. If however you are wanting a lot of these for catering (≥100 settings) - a search on Amazon will get these for as low as 9p a setting.I also rate these as a good choice for our next big office party.I have put a set in our compost to see what the breakdown rate is. I suspect that unless you have a powered "chipper" these will need to go into the very long term compost pile along with small branches, which may take up to 6 years to rot enough to be useful on gardens.

Ideal disposable set for picnics or camping
This review is for a disposable wooden cutlery set, branded Caterpack. The pack consists of 50 knives, 50 forks and 50 spoons, each item is around 160mm long. The manufacturer claims these are made from sustainable birchwood, and that they are biodegradable, which is going to be kinder to the environment than traditional plastic disposable cutlery.Having quickly used them to eat takeaway sausage and chips followed by a yogurt, I like the fact they are less flexible than many low cost plastic disposable cutlery sets. Obviously they are not as rigid as the metal cutlery you would use at home. The knife cut through the battered sausage with ease, but I think would struggle with steaks and other harder meats. The spoon is quite shallow, which means it packs small, but does mean that runny foodstuffs are going to be harder to eat. However, I think its a good comprise.I'm delighted with this set, though accept its a little more expensive than some of the other disposable items.

Great for Picnics
These wooden spoons, forks and knives are brilliant to carry in the car. When visiting family, we often stop at the services to pick up a pasta pot for lunch. The tiny foldable forks included are not easy to eat with. This box of wooden cutlery solves this problem. They come in a lovely box to keep them in and the cutlery itself is very good quality. It is sturdy and does not bend or snap easily. I would not to cut anything tough with the knives but for picnic food they are great. At 15p per set of cutlery, they are brilliant value and afterwards they are compostable. Win, Win.
