HSPT Practice Questions: HSPT Practice Tests & Exam Review for the High School Placement Test

This was a quick and easy review book. a great one if you are trying to squeeze in a lot of prep in a short time. It has two full tests and brief but understandable explanations. My daughter took a practice test in a different book and scored very poorly in the LA sections but was pretty good in math. After she did the two tests in this book, she scored a 98 percentile overall on test day, and nothing lower than a 95 percentile. I have to think the book helped to prepare her well.

We bought this book for our students who were seeking help studying for the HSPT exam and they found it to be incredibly helpful. It is an excellent resource for students to become familiar with the types of questions or problems they will encounter on the actual exam. Furthermore, the book is very well organized and easy to understand, providing clear explanations for how to work through the HSPT problems. We would highly recommend this product!

It makes a good practice guide for the HSPT and a nice feel to the answers in the back.Very helpful and met expectations

My husband is a tutor from kindergarten to college and teaches Physics and Calculus. All he said was it was perfect. Just like the other book. He teaches at an exclusive school and uses these books. He also does SAT prep along with the other tests kids need to advance into college classes and test out of them

The book has been very helpful. The questions are right on target for this age group. At this point, we don’t know how helpful it will be until the actual test is taken later this year but we will continue to take tests out of the book in hopes of mastering skills and scoring high on the HSPT test.

At first use, this was a helpful tool. Upon further review, I found quite a few questions that contained errors and therefore resulted in a frustrating experience for my son trying to take the practice tests. I would not recommend this product. The Peterson book for Catholic entrance exams is a superior practice book. If they can correct the errors in this book, it would be adequate, but the current version needs to be edited for accuracy.

We both like it because it does go into details the correct answer in the back of the book and why this is the correct answer. This has helped her a lot on letting her know how the test will be. It is not a long book which was good because we only had s short time to prepare.

There is no scantron test answer form as suggested on the cover of the booklet.On whole, the content was useful, but several errors were found.Page 6, #30: The key gives C. Uncertain as an answer, but the third sentence says .."the matinee had eleven viewers". This cannot be true when the first sentence says the 'matinee had twice as many viewers as the early show". Did the early show have 5.5 viewers?Page 38, #20: The correct answer (243, or 3 to the fifth power) is not in the list of answers.Page 83, #38: The incorrect letter is identified in the key for correct answer.Page 125, #26: The figure is not fully labelled, or the answer key does not have the correct answer listed.Also, the arrangement of the Answer Key made it not easy to use for correcting and reviewing. There were no page references to the key in the question sections, and vice versa.
