I bought this for my six year old grandson as he loves planes and even paper airplanes. We took it outside to play with and he loves it. It is made of foam, but not flimsy. It does fly far. My grandson can set it up and shoot it fine, but I think younger children might have a hard time setting it up. but an adult could probably help them to do this. Unfortunately, we have trees in our yard and one plane launched high up in one and we can't get it down. But, we have learned our lesson and now play at the park where there is a big open field and it is loads of fun there. I would recommend this if you have an open area to play in. I plan on buying another set so we will have more for his friends or family to play with when we go to the park together. I would recommend this toy.
