MY NEW EVERYDAY GO-TO WATCH
I have owned Russian military watches on-and-off since the 90s, when Russian and East German gear turned up in catalogs at low cost following the Cold War. I still have a Komandierskie tank commander watch, which I customized with a black-and-red zulu strap, that I keep for casual wear. I also have a Vostok Amphibia, which is like wearing a tuna can on your wrist and no longer keeps good time. So I went back to my old Komandierskie. In addition, I have several vintage Gruen watches for dress-up. My former go-to watch, a Wenger Swiss Army field watch, got lost or stolen. So I was looking for a suitable replacement. This particular Vostok model features a simple, no-nonsense design, keeps excellent time, and can be worn on any occassion. I ordered mine with a black-and-grey zulu strap, having come to prefer nylon over leather or metal. And talk about fast service! I placed my order and it was on my wrist 36 hours later.

A nice watch for the price.
It is a nice watch for the price. I am glad that I watched YouTube videos and read up on Vostok watches. If I did not know about the stem and how it took a little patience to get the right touch to wind it, I would have thought that it was broken. But after a couple of minutes, I got the feel of it, now, winding is no problem. I will probably buy a diver and a 24 hour Komandirskie. Also, thanks for the pin.

Decent Manual Wound Watch
I spent a long while looking at and investigating manual wound watches. I finally decided to give Vostok a try. The reviews (not just here, but elsewhere) were good, the price point was affordable and they are not bad looking. I have to admit, I was not expecting much but I am pleasantly surprised by it. After nearly a month, this is what I've found:First off, it is not the most accurate. Fully wound (everyday), it appears to run fast about 3-4 minutes per week (your mileage may vary!). This, to me, is nothing but a minor annoyance (you can always turn it back!).Second, the size and feel is a perfect fit for me. The watch itself is not overly large or bulky but not so small to appear "flimsy". It actually feels rugged. I have banged it around a few times (accidentally, throughout the course of my working day) and have not noticed any damage visually or mechanically.Third, and this is just a collector's bonus, the box that it came in was actually pretty cool. The wording was all in Russian (as are all markings on the watch itself) which adds to the feel of the watch. Also, in the box was a second strap made of leather (faux?) - I had ordered the black ZULU strap so this was a nice find! I also discovered a wearable pin with a Russian design that I've kept in the box.All in all, it is a decent watch for the price point, seems to be rugged enough for an active life/job and it comes with a little bit of flare. I am very pleased with the purchase!

Great little watch
As always, Vostok watches deliver the goods in old-school mechanical wristwatches. This number is no exception. Looks great, keeps decent time and the niftiest bit is that I could adjust the length of the metal watchband using my SIM card picky poker in under 5 minutes. Unlike Western steel, this is made with no chromium but rather manganese and molybdenum so, like surgical stainless steel, there is no chemical reaction with your skin. This should be good for a decade before it needs service. If you get caught up in a bus ride situation as in the film "Nobody," this is just the watch to leave an impression on all with whom you must contend lol.

Classic looks but rugged mechanics
I'm blown away by the quality of it, it's the most accurate mechanical time piece i own. In comparison with my other watch that was well over $200 i feel confident that it could take a beating at work and continue to be just as accurate. Customer service was top notch, the seller was in contact with me from placing my order to delivery, I highly recommend Vostok watches!

Muy lindo reloj
Una gran compra. Sencillo, robusto, confiable y con muy buena calibración. El diseño de su tapa rasera le da un gran encanto al reloj. Mas que contento con este Vostok.

Good but not impressive
I like the engineering and story behind this watch, but the watch is small, with an acrylic crystal, and not very pretty... by the way the price seems fair.
