Great Beginner's Mobile phone
Once up and running this is simple to use. Great for my 80yr old friend who is new to mobile phones and has never used the internet and has no e-mail account as she has no way of accessing it and feels too nervous to try at this stage. She very quickly got the hang of simply answering and closing calls and navigating the contact list. She was very pleased it had buttons to press and pictures to indicate what some of the buttons were for. It is relatively easy to navigate and she can't really make any mistake that's too great as it doesn't have the internet connection. Great to learn on with confidence. She's delighted with the size and lightness of the phone. My one issue with the phone was the lack of clear picture instructions on how to insert the SIM and battery, which given the simplicity of the phone for beginners would have been extremely helpful. As it was, I was able to get a youtube video of another model of Doro phone being kitted up with the SIM and battery and after a lot of use of the pause button managed to figure it out.Would definitely recommend it as a basic, simple to use, introductory phone to the mobile world- like my very old beloved NOKIA back in the day.

Easy phone for elderly
Easy to set up though could not find how to set up the speed dial numbers on the instructions but eventually found on phone myself. It's easier just press one number to ring someone.Bought for my mum who is 95 who had a doro 2G before kept losing signal so upgraded to this 4GThis is a flip doro the previous one wasn't.Mum loves it, it's louder and and the text and display can be set to LARGE. Easy to use, now just need to show her the texting as bit different from her other phone, but she will text.Comes with a stand for charging or you can just use the lead to charge. Also battery is included read on a review came without battery. Lovely phone mum is happy.

All According To What You Are Looking For
The phone is a good size and easy to use. Two good size type faces and good volume for calls and alarms. However I felt the amount of ring and text tones was limited and the camera is not worth having in my opinion. Overall a reasonable phone for us older generation users who don't want all the bells and whistles youngsters are looking for!

Great mobile, easy to use for elderly person
Purchased this for my elderly mother as previous basic phone finding harder to use. Have a more sturdy phone with a large screen for her to see who she is calling has been great. Also the keys are slight more spaced out so not touching more than one key which she was doing on her old phone. Having a white base with black keys they stand out more. She has found it really easy to use and adapt to.

Simple phone to navigate. Loud sound and keypad easy to use
Bought for my 92 year old mum. She likes to call and text. It’s new , so she’s still getting used to it. She managed to add some contacts herself. I set up quick dial contacts for her which is handy. It’s nice and clear and loud for her to hear when it rings. So far she can hear quite well when using it , despite only wearing one hearing aid ( won’t use the other one ) it’s got big numbers so it’s easy to text and the keypad lights up which mum likes. Good value for money.

First device suffered from signal issues. Do I try another?
The Doro 2880 was purchased for a senior relative. When placing a call using the device, the call recipient would hear electrical noise making the call almost inaudible. This Doro phone was tested with several SIM cards of differing networks and the problem persisted.Strangely enough, the individual making the call with the DORO device could not perceive a problem. So it appears to be an issue with the way the device poorly transmits to the mobile network.(The SIM cards that were used during the testing of this device were used in other phones without issues). When using the device and held as expected, it's as if the phone obscures the signal. If held awkwardly by your fingertips at the bottom of the lower clamshell, the electrical noise heard would reduce.Form factor and menu layout makes it simple for a senior to get to grips with how to use the device. But it's of little consequence if the device cannot be relied upon to place calls.
