I drop one off these in when I'm making up salad dressing. Small ones are great for the bottles. Big ones work great in mason jars

I got this shaker ball to replace the one that came with my shake mixer, which was a big thick plastic ball with 'vanes' on it. I like this one much better for two reasons - one is that it's quieter. The big plastic one made a LOUD 'thwak' on each shake. Very very minor issue, but I found it slightly annoying. This one makes a way quieter sound on each shake, while still seeming to mix the powder in fine. The second reason is that this one is easier to rinse off. Powder doesn't seem to stick to it as well (less surface area) and as it's stainless steel if you really want you can dump it in the dishwasher. I just run a spray over it a bit from the sink, but it takes less effort to clean than the big plastic mixers.
