just a opto transmitter and receiver
Disappointed. They may work in dark pipes and tanks. My intended usage is exposed to ambient light (open tank top, clear tanks, etc). Voltage change with changes in ambient light exceeds voltage change between submerged and non-submerged conditions. Included schematic shows a light transmitter and receiver with a couple of resistors and no other signal processing.

Works great, once we figured out the setup with the resistors. Nice and small form factor
