I lost the charger to my camera a long time ago and luckily, this was inexpensive and worked. Would recommend if you're need a charger, it's also small/thin so easy to store.

This works as advertised, but sometimes the metal prong that presses against the rechargeable battery pack gets stuck. This prevents the battery from even charging at all. Thankfully i messed with the prongs and heard a click as if something was moving back in place. Now it charges like normal.

Charger works great, the plastic feels cheap

For the Panasonic Lumix DMW-BCK7PP battery: I have the same issue as John; unless the metal contacts are slightly bent (by you the purchaser) towards the correct contact position(s) they will not make contact with the battery terminals and the battery will not charge. The LED on the unit will light up BLUE when USB power is applied (or when the battery is fully charged), it will light up RED when the battery is charging. I was able to fully charge a COMPLETELY discharged battery in less than an hour (not sure if this rapid charge rapid rate will create a battery longevity issue; how fast is too fast?).Using an external USB based charger, like this one, (and an external USB output based battery) is the ONLY method I have found to charge the battery "on the go" without an AC based power supply.I am using this charger in a Solar Panel & Rechargeable External USB Battery configuration for off grid/remote camera (and other USB powered/rechargeable devices) use.

Initially, I had my doubts, bit it works great!
